Just some background - I moved here from New York and I have no clue what is good but I relied on reviews. I box colored my hair and I decided to get it professionally done. To be honest I truly won't know how to properly explain this situation or how to feel.
I made my appointment and met with a stylist (granted my hair is in a disarray as I have been working from home for over a year now. Wednesday was our first day back in the office and I was meeting with some Partners along with the rest of my team. So on Monday, I met the stylist. For starters he showed me a color book along with the color I wanted. He consulted with the manager and agreed that my hair needed bleaching. So I sat back down waiting for the next steps and I can see them on the mirror showing hand signs and whispering all together. I was just baffled.
Now its done. Its their closing hour, its 9pm and I went home. To MY HORROR, I got the worst spotted job of bleaching in a lifetime. It was as if a two year old played around on my hair. THE COLOR was this red awful burnt something I cannot properly described. What's worst is that I have hair, (like side burns) that runs down the sides of my neck, one side was bleached the other wasn't and one side had an orange color whereas the other was similar to my naturally dark hair. So, the color I wanted was a midnight shade of purple which is still dark with the hint of purple. On the book they had it and seemed doable.
I went back on Tuesday, the stylist saw me and ran back in the back. I will be honest, I DID NOT misbehave, yelled or anything of the sort but was visibly very upset. The manager said oh we are busy want to make an appointment to come back later in the week. Mind you she was doing the exact same thing on another client but seems she knew what she was doing. There was another stylist and the one that messed up my hair. NO other client, but they were busy. I was exasperated. I explained I have an important meeting the next morning and I cannot go anywhere with literal patches in my hair.
Nothing more was said and I left. No professional courtesy, nothing. IF the stylist had said I cant do it now, or I don't know or even the manager who was there through out the process had done things differently perhaps it would have been a amendable situation. BUT this was simply the worst kind of messed up ever. I gave it one star but no star would have been better. IT was simply a...
Read moreIt's a shame that one person can ruin a business. We usually have no problems with this business but today we scheduled a cut for my son early in the morning. We were greeted with "Hi, how are you?" To which I responded "Hi, we have an appointment at 9." The woman stopped and asked slowly "How... Are... You...?" I guess she wasn't happy with my answer. So I shrugged off the rude customer service and I responded "Good" but it was rude. Then she asks my sons name and I tell her. She asked him "How are you?" And being that he is shy - he didn't respond. So like a completely "detached from reality" woman, she takes it upon herself to start aggressively tickling him and saying "How are you!? How are you!? How are you!?"
Now, while I understand she was trying to be playful, I told her he was shy and wouldn't respond and she doesn't know my son at all. He could have been special needs. He could have had trauma about people touching him. She had no right to place her hands on my child especially the way she did. We are not friends and thankfully My son has none of the aforementioned traumas or needs but he does have an aversion to strangers! I pulled him in close and leaned away hoping she'd get the hint but she continued and then stopped seconds later. I was so close to yelling at her in front of the entire shop to stop touching my child.
Another attendant said "Barb is a lot in the morning" and Barb replied my son just "wasn't up yet." NO! He just doesn't like when strangers touch him and get in his face. Probably the same way Barb wouldn't like it if some random person came up to her or her kids and talked loudly in their face while touching them. Unprofessional, uncalled for, and no understanding that other people may be uncomfortable with her abrasiveness. Won't be returning after years of coming her and feeling safe for my kid to...
Read moreI came here and left utterly shocked to see that Andrea didn't have more reviews on here for her phenomenal work! She was so sweet and easy to talk to. She talked me through hair chemistry for my color job and was kind and thoughtful. She read my face throughout every step of the process, and made sure that everything she was doing was exactly what I wanted, and it was! When I doubted a choice, she picked up on it and helped talk me through everything, which was incredibly professional and helpful. I was also made aware of the pricing at the beginning, and if I needed something done that would have changed the prices I was told immediately and given the choice to decide if I wanted to pay more, which was something I greatly appreciated. It was well worth the time and money to spend an afternoon with her getting my dream hair. Again, I would highly recommend working with Andrea! I've attached some before and...
