Edit: I dropped by again recently and honestly Iâm pretty disappointed. The prices really arenât competitive, which I can understand when you need to worry about rent and bills. But prices can vary from $35 for Lego Island for the PS2 to $70 for Sonic Shuffle or $160 for a Gamecube. Now itâs clear the store has been making big upgrades recently. Unfortunately itâs not things like disk resurfacers, new display cases so they donât have to stack expensive games on top of each other, or bulk buying replacement game cases so they donât have to use boxes that look like theyâve been run over. Instead they got 4 shiny new video slot machines. Just sitting there right by the entrance. Unfortunately I canât exactly say itâs on the up and up anymore when itâs making choices like selling a sun damaged Rock Band guitar bundle for $150 more than most eBay listings, or a torn up loose copy of Forsaken 64 for twice the cost of a boxed copy, or spending their profits for 4 video slot machines. Quite honestly itâs better (and cheaper) to go all the way over to Media, Woodbury, or Glenside to pick up games, they take better care of their inventory, have really competitive prices, and donât waste money to buy video slot machines.
ORIGINAL: I started going to this place about 2 or 3 years ago and it was a real mixed bag with some of the stuff they were selling and the disorganization of the place. They recently moved to a new building and the place is much more spacious and nice. Itâs really great to see how much this store has grown and improved over the past 3 years. If you live in Philadelphia this place is in a pretty convenient spot and itâs been on the up and up so Iâd definitely recommend...
Read moreI travel out of state to a lot of game stores. I donât want to mess up anyoneâs business and the young guy who helped me was nice, but I regretted spending my time stopping here, on a long trip with limited time to stop at various stores. It was not an impressive store. The selection was not good. The smell and air quality was bad, which I normally never find in a video game store. A little uncleanly, but not real bad. The glass displays were cleaner than items on the floor. It almost felt like I was in a third world country, walking down the street where it is located and being inside the store. However, this may be all they have, if this community is struggling with poverty issues. If thatâs the case, then this may honestly be the best they could do, for the time being, and I can be more understanding. Iâm not trying to bash the owners or anyone else. I felt very comfortable with the worker that helped me and he was very courteous. They seemed to be trying to set up a little arcade corner in the back, which is cool. Some other reviewers complained about the prices being too high here. I did not observe anything like that, when I was there, although I didnât look too closely at prices either. I wish I could give a better review, but that doesnât mean there isnât room for improvement. I see potential here for it to grow into something better. Itâs hard to start a business. Donât give up. Just be honest, do whatâs right, and...
Read moreAvoid at all costs. I purchased a 3DSXL, a 3DS, Pokemon Snap for the N64 and N64 av cables for $300. $130 for a used 3DSXL in okay condition which I was unaware of sells for $100 anywhere else. BUT THATS NOT EVEN WHY I'M WRITING THIS. The problem i went into the store with was because the other 3DS when turned on would say something about a firmware patch and shut down. I went back into the store on my next day off which was 3 days after i originally purchased it. I asked for an exchange, that was it. I didnt mention the other 3DSXL or anything else. I asked to exchange the non working one. He admitted he remembered me and that he could see it was the same 3DS. I still had the charger wrapped with the tie like he gave me. He refused to exchange it still. I am not a store owner I do not have a disposable income. i bought them so my girlfriend and I could play pokemon together. I lost $100 that I really can't afford to lose. I live paycheck to paycheck and saved up money to buy these items only to be given an unsympathetic shrug when one didn't work. I dont have a building with 100 3DS's in it, I don't work for myself. I bust my butt for my money and this man simply stole...
