5 Star Barbershop Salon 7 St. — Local services in Phoenix

EDIT MAY: I've been coming to this barber for about a year. The owner (his name slips my mind at the moment) and the woman are very pleasant. Both cut my hair very well. The owner especially. He took his time and really liked his technique cutting my hair. My last 2 visits they were not present and he has since brought in 2 additional cutters. My first alternate experience was in March. He cut my hair ok but spent the time taking about how they needed to bring in more business. I get that but when I was paying my tab, he tricked me my bringing the business up in Google maps 'to see if it shows up'. He then instructed me to go ahead and put in a review (which is what is at the bottom of this review). My most recent visit this month, I had another different person cut my hair. Very rushed. The cut was just ok. As he was starting, he asked if I was nervous. I said no, why. He said it was because I was sweating. Um, just came in from outside where is 90 degrees. While carrying out, i asked what i owed him and said i don't know, $32? I pointed behind him eye the sign reads $28.The general vibe was that he had someplace else to be and I really didn't enjoy my visit. Not sure I'll be back, but may give them one more opportunity before I move on.

I absolutely LOVE this salon! The owners truly care about their clients. This was the best experience I have ever had at any salon. They are so friendly, professional and they take the time to ensure that the job is done correctly. This shop is incredibly clean and beautiful. I have found my new salon for life. Never again will anyone else touch my hair. I had a friend dye my hair and it turned out to be a disaster. I was able to make a same day appointment here and they were ready for me as soon as I walked in the door. I did not have to wait even for a second. She truly cared about my wishes for my color and style. She made suggestions based on how my hair would handle the color. She really took her time to make sure it was done properly. Once it was complete I couldn't stop staring and touching my beautiful hair! The price is great for the quality that you receive. I couldn't be more satisfied. I am one extremely happy client! They have definitely gained a lifetime customer from me! I just can't say enough good things about this salon and it's amazing owners! Try this salon! I thought a long time about writing this review. I do not want anyone to experience what happened to me.

I booked an appt for a women's haircut. I confirmed with the stylist in the beginning I was just looking for a cut and no style. The salon was clean and people were friendly. It was very hot, sitting in the chair, so hot I was sweating during the cut. Cut turned out great, but what was not great was the stylist asked if she could put a few curls in my hair and if I had time. I said sure, because I thought she wanted to show me how my new layers would lay.

It was not until I got up to pay that she told me the total was $80 which included a style and blow out (the curls she added). I was pretty frustrated but I paid and left a tip because I did not want to get into an argument.
