I am limited to shop here simply because I live in close. Proximity to Food City. I can tell you I feel misunderstood and unfairly judged. I have applied for. Employment there many times and actually had a stranger mention that they will not typically hire anyone that is not Hispanic?! I think that our jackass we have running our country is causing racial discord. But I think it is unfortunate that we can't simply try to stop stereotyping people . I am a caucasion mature woman with a distinct handicap that experienced a fall leaving the self checkout area that is constantly monitored by Food City managent and just coldly stared at by food City management and not once was I asked if I needed medical help. Until someone was clued into the fact that due to the fall happening on food City property it is a wise reaction for them to find out if I was truly physically okay?!? Don't shop there unless u want to be treated like something stuck to there shoe?! STOP THE HATE CANT WE ALL JUST GET ĂLONG? 7 days later: today I shopped at food City again. And I discovered after leaving the store that I was overcharged by almost 5.00!. Keep in mind I am physically challenged older woman and find it almost incompensable that a clerk with obvious seniority failed to greet me as well as was not aware that she overcharged me. If I wasn't in too much pain to walk back I would because I had returned once already questioning the total in which I was given $1.70 back. By a much friendlier clerk as my clerk disappeared. Whenever you're up I arrived home and could access my calculator I saw that I was over charged by $4.72. Know of course it is too late not only was I given the feeling of obvious disregard and I once again saw the customers following me as well as prior to me being verbally acknowledged as well as greeted and regarded in a professional manner a sharp contrast to the disregard I was shown I was also...
Read moreI'm very disappointed in this Food City. I've never had such a bad experience at a Food City. I was just there (7-31). This place sucks. No exaggeration. The deals are not good at all lol, they're a joke [$1.19/lb for gala apples (mostly small and rotting); they're $.99/lb at Frys], and if you've ever shopped at Frys, the produce is beautiful and consistent. The snacks are all over-priced; along with many other things. To my disbelief, I would've saved by going to a major chain. The store is dirty. There is an overall feel and smell of dingy. The refrigerator and freezer sections seem weak and barely working; feels rather warm near them. Worst part though was check-out BY FAR!! After all items were payed for and I received my receipt, and the cashier (I'll spare him his name) turned off his light. As I'm moving away putting my wallet away he informed me he's made a mistake.. long story short, 3 mistakes were made.. he didn't charge me; then he overcharged me; then I got home and noticed that after all the fuss he and his manager gave me; they forgot to charge me (all different items in different, elaborate ways), in all ending with me having to pay out another $8!! -25 min ordeal!! Like DUDE REALLY!? What the hell is really going on here. Are we ok? Supervisor response: "Mistakes happen, he's human." Ya not my issue bro! Not my fault your employees are dumb-asses. I will gladly pay what I owe. Customers don't pay for a business's incompetence, just as a business doesn't pay for the incompetence of a customer. -If I pay too much that's my problem. I should've been waived. -They're display of incompetence, and lack of professionalism is enough to make one gag. And that's if you've not already started by what you'll likely have already seen. Don't believe me? Read the other comments. Don't believe them? Have yourselves a visit.. Really though, I don't recommend it. Place needs [serious improvements]...
Read moreThatâs the worst store experience I had in any Food City location. I used to love Food City but from now on Iâll go to Ranch Market, El Super and similar stores that have great deals as well, and the being difference between them is only customer service. The assistant store manager Maritza was very rude, not even empathetic, she argued with a raised voice (I think she needs to attend some training on customer service and emotional intelligence) and thatâs all because of 11 cents per pound on the gold potatoes, (the listed price was 77cents and apparently they forgot to remove the old price, new price being 88 cents) I needed 100 lbs and asked the person to bring me a box from the back, they had only half of that but at the cashier Maritza said the policy is to honor only one pound with the price not the entire purchase, is the 11 cents all a store manager could do? I could have left them all there and get them at Costco Business for 63 cents a pound, only I didnât want to waste the time I already spent to drive there 20 minutes and to pick and weight the potato toes another 20 minutes. To all my friends and family, coworkers, and church community that I used to recommend Food City, our weekly grocery shopping is not going anymore to Food City just because of their untrained managers and the unfairness that they treat the customers with. I finally paid 88cents per lb, and for all the potatoes I paid more maybe $6 which is nothing for me, and it wouldnât be a loss for the store , but definitely more than $6 will be the loss of few loyal customers that used to shop there few...
