I recently visited this newly established Jamaican restaurant and, unfortunately, left disappointed. From the onset, the service was underwhelming, as we were abruptly greeted with, "Do you know what you want? What do you need?" without being offered a menuā they donāt have a menu yet.
We ordered two plates along with two beef patties, which came to a total of $59. The beef patties were tough to bite through, clearly overcooked. Similarly, the side dishes left much to be desired; the rice and peas were sparse on beans and lacked flavor, and the cabbage was equally bland. The chicken curry and oxtail, however, were a standout with its juiciness and rich flavor, and it was the only parts of our meal that met our expectations for Jamaican cuisine.
Unfortunately, the plantains didn't redeem the meal, as they were dry and overcooked. Additionally, our order was served without any utensils or napkins, which compounded the lackluster service. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return. It was disappointing, especially for a cuisine known for its vibrant flavors and...

Most of the Caribbean food around town is nothing to write home about, but we tried 9 different items as a party of 4 and were in love with all of them. The crowd favorite was definitely the jerk chicken, although I loved the curry chicken. It reminded me of what my Kenyan auntie used to make for me as a kid! š„¹ The oxtail was perfectly spiced, and the goat was mild and succulent. The plantains seemed super fresh with a beautiful texture, and they paired amazingly with all of the sauces on the meats. Not only that, but the rice could totally stand alone as a wonderful dish in its own right. And Ray hooked it up for us with some perfectly cooked shrimp!
You can't get oxtail that good at that portion for that price! I will definitely be going back soon for the jerk chicken loaded fries, or for a $10...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest Jamaican in Phoenix! I came in on a Friday night and had the Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, Rice and peas and Cabbage. Let me tell you the Curry Goat was fall of the bone tender packed full of authentic spices and flavors, the Jerk Chicken was cooked to perfection, golden crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside with a side of sauce to compliment. The cabbage and rice were fantastic. I also got a chance to try to Jerk Pork as the guys let me try a sample, AMAZING! I ordered beef patties to go and had the later on that evening as a mid-night snack. Even after reheating, they were great. The guys that work there are very friendly and welcoming. If you haven't tried this place, you got to come try, you won't be...
