I was humbled by the level of skill the barber displayed with my hair type.

I'll be honest and say I've a bit of bias when it comes to who cuts my hair. Being an African with kinky and curly hair usually means I only let those with my same hair type (and complexion to a degree) give me a cut. This is under the assumption that they with know what they are doing. The man in the barber shop that day was Middle Eastern so naturally I assumed things wouldn't work out. He told me not to worry and made me rather comfortable and proceeded to give me a rather excellent cut.

Terrible experience at Modern Cuts. When I walked in with my son, no one greeted us. No acknowledgment whatsoever. We sat waiting for several minutes, and still, complete silence from the staff - not even a simple hello.

I noticed an ATM machine inside, which immediately raised concerns. When I asked if they accept tap to pay or credit cards, they bluntly replied "cash only." I left immediately.

I don't understand businesses that make payments difficult for customers. Do they not want to get paid? The cash-only policy combined with an in-house ATM and the cold reception feels suspicious and unprofessional. Will not...

Awesome place. These guys are great. Lots of attention to detail. Very thorough. I didn't know my normal place was closed on Sunday so I tried the local chain... almost 5 hours of wait for the next appointment... heck No! I remembered this barber shop, since I almost always drive by it and decided to check it out. Clean place, good waiting chairs, nice ambiance, not loud like other places. I'm switching to this barber shop from now on. It's a lot closer than my regular shop and it's about the same price. I recommend this place if you DO NOT want to wait half a day for the next open slot. In and out...
