Dined here about 4 times, and I’ve always been so happy each time. So much flavor. The first time I came here was last year, and my friend showed me the ropes. Since then, I’ve brought my friends here. Every time, so many people take out. I always like to try new things but there are 3 things I always have to get. Fufu with whatever soup they have that day. Attieke with snapper. Chuck rice with chicken. Their full menu is not always available. They let you know what they have. I’ve tried their egusi, pepper, cassava, and goat soup. Every one at my table would have their favorite one, so I can’t recommend one more than the other. Egusi is probably the most unique though in terms of texture and flavor. Fufu comes out HOT so be warned. We let it cool down a bit and it’s a lil less sticky and more manageable. Every soup usually has different types of meats and lots of bones (like turkey neck), so be careful there too. Chuck rice with chicken. The sauce is amazing and the chicken is fried so well that it stays crispy under all the sauce! I definitely have some fufu with the chicken here too. Snapper with attieke and plantains. Attieke is as unique to me as fufu is. And it has so much flavoooor. Snapper is a whole fish, fried to perfection. This comes with a mayo salad sauce type thing. Their three entrees are usually more than enough for a group of 4. With a water bottle (they don’t do cups of water, I think), it adds up to be about $25-30 a person. And we usually have enough to take home for one more meal. If you want, I also recommend their ginger juice. STRONG ginger flavor. It warms you right up. I imagine it’s great for my stomach after all the palm oil and spices. Other tips: They got a hand washing station for hygienic fufu eating!

my boyfriend and i came here after months of wanting to try fufu and soup. we recently found out more of my boyfriends heritage, so we were wanted to get acquainted with the cuisine. This family owned restaurant was so warm and wonderful. We walked in and Jutie greeted us and walked us through food options. We came in at 6:15 and found out the Egusi soup was out for the day, so we ordered the Peppered soup. Shortly after ordering, Jutie told us that Juli was preparing Egusi soup. It was date night, so we had time to spare and waited for the Egusi. It was SO worth it! We ordered 1 order to share and it was a perfect amount for a quick shared dinner. We had the biggest smiles on our face and our dinner conversation consisted ONLY of how good the food was. We loved the flavor. There was a little heat to it, which we love spicy food, it wasn’t overbearing though. The texture and taste of the fufu paired perfectly. Both Juli and Jutie kept smiling and interacting with us, we felt at home and opted to eat with our hands. I’m Indian and enjoyed that I felt the comfort to be able to eat with my hand, there was a sink in the dining room which made that easy. I just loved the whole evening. We’ll be back :) thank you J + J for a wonderful time and amazing food!

I haven’t tried African cuisine before (from any region) so this was completely new to me. I decided to be bold today though and try it so I got what seemed to the most popular dish according to the reviews, the palm butter soup and fufu (option 7). I was excited and nervous to try it but to my pleasant surprise, it did not disappoint one bit!!! It was amazingly delicious and packed with flavors and spices. The meat was juicy, tender and cooked just right. I’ve never had fufu before either but I can only explain it as a mushy masa texture and flavor (like what’s used for making tortillas from scratch). Maybe like the texture of matzah ball? Not really sure. It doesn’t have much of a flavor but thats what make it perfect with the palm butter soup!!! I broke it off with my fingers and dipped it into the soup, and that was *chef’s kiss* 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be coming back here when I’m in the mood for a warm, flavorful soup!! So glad I decided to venture out today :) the customer service was great too!

When I was discussing the menu I asked about a soup but didn't say I wanted it and when we finally made our decision I let the person know I wanted only 2 items and 2 drinks and was told the food would be out in 20 minutes. It was almost an hour before we got our food and I looked at my recept and seen I was charged for the soup I only questioned about and I just decided to let it go but I was almost about to just ask for my money back since it was taking too long. Finally our food came out and both soups were not hot but the fish was hot. Before getting the food an individual came in complaining to the cashier that he was charged for something he also asked about just like me and that's when I noticed the same happened to me I was wondering why my amount was so high and $25 for a small bowl of soup and fofo is way too much and mind you I was charged $25 for each of my soups. After eating we asked for a container only to see it was dirty with an old recept inside and the salt shaker had a dead bug in it....I will not be going back. They are friendly yes but they need to work on time management and also need to show prices on their menu and pay more attention to...
