Very friendly staff. All base spirit is made in Indiana by a different company. They "finish" it in TN. It is young and hot. Nothing aged past 8 years offered at my tasting.
Edit in response to clarify:
I am also someone who is in the industry. I managed a fine wine and spirits boutique attached to a beer garden. I taught mixology classes and gave whiskey(or whisky depending upon the featured brands and pairing) tastings and classes. If your establishment had more aged offerings, they were not presented.
As stated earlier, your staff is friendly. Although, I would discuss the presentation with them. I was the only person in the tasting room. The representative rattled of the names and percentages for the spirits as if reading from a script. No discussion of the attributes of the product. There was never any investigation as to preference after consumption. No direction as to what to taste next or in what order.
As a buyer, I have done tastings with corporate representatives from Scotland including Balvenie,Highland Park Lagavulin and Glenmorangie and American bourbon reps from J. Henry, Driftless Glen and Makers Mark to name a few. I was treated like an...
Read moreWhat a relief to enjoy a bourbon tasting instead of the usual moonshine, wine, or cider tastings! While they did offer some moonshine-style options, I chose to stick with the bourbon selectionâand Iâm glad I did. They had around 12 or so bourbons to choose from + moonshine and other options, and you got 10 samples of the extensive list.
The staff was very knowledgeable, and the product was solid. I especially appreciated that the tasting wasnât rushed like at some moonshine places. Instead of rapid-fire shots, they encouraged you to enjoy and experience each pourâwhich made the whole visit much more enjoyable.
I ended up purchasing a bottle of the Tennessee Standard Blended Bourbon which I intend to crack soon with friends. At the time I was there, they were running a promotion where, if you buy a certain number of bottles, you receive a...
Read moreWOW! đ€© my husband and I stopped in for some samples and were immediately greeted by Dennis asking us, âif you were to go into a liquor store, what would you buy?â He tailored our tasting for all things whiskey with a few that we werenât expecting to like but we were blown away with how incredible each one was.
He was very knowledgeable and did an amazing job at sharing the history and origin of each recipe. He made us feel welcomed and that we were in good company. Even while other guests arrived, he took care of us. All of the whiskeys by far surpass all of our expectations. We were blown away by the quality and flavor of each one. Kings is bybfar the best distillery in the area. We plan on returning for our next trip (hopefully Dennis is working đ) but will order online until then. Thanks Kings! Please make your way...
