Went here yestersy to have an emergency stat ultra sound of a swollen leg. I had a colonoscopy the day before and right after my leg started swelling up and it had already been swollen for two days . Spoke to the doctor who said the stat ultrasound needed to be done to rule out blood clot . I’m a single mother who doesn’t have the resources to just get up and go whenever to the doctor . I explained this to them and told them I needed to get the stat ultrasound done that day as I could make arraignments for a baby sitter then. ( tried to get it checked by my gp who fell I’ll end cancled on me last minute ) so this was the next best option. They agreed even though they were booked to squeeze me in. I paid about 30 dollars for an Uber to go there and have it done being as I don’t even live around the area . I get there around 2 , am taken back around 2:20 to have the ultrasound done . Get out around 2:45 and am told to wait around ten minutes my results should be right up. Wait 30 minutes there , no results . Decide to go back home because it’s a stat order and results are usually given within the same 3 hours . It is now 4:3o and they close at 5:3o no results . I call to see what’s going on and they tell me it’s “in progress” and I should have them before they close . It is now the very next day Saturday at 8:30 am and I’m told no one has even read my ultrasound when it’s stat and I’m waiting To find out if there’s a blood clot in my leg!!!!! There are no supervisors to speak to because it’s the “weekend “ their words . Then I am told I have to wait until Monday !?! Geisinger what is wrong with you? I need to know about the blood clot so I can know if the er is somewhere I have to and should go too! How can a patient have a stat order in ( and I’ve had stat ultrasounds at other locations and have been given the results right then and there ) and you tell a patient with a blood cot possibility to wait until Monday ? You all are the worse for that and I’ll be sure to let everyone I know to never come here for help. The building and location may be spacious and nice but that doesn’t matter when the help provided is uncaring and unbothered . Do better Geisinger because you all don’t care about...
Read moreI had my 1st. Colonoscopy today. I went to Geisinger on Oak St. I feel it’s important to stress I have what some would consider an irrational fear of going under anesthesia. Once I was in the back and it was time to get changed into my gown, I went into panic mode. I put all my clothes back on and waited for the nurse Haley to come back and let her know that I could not do this and I was leaving. I’m sure it would have been very easy to just let me walk out the doors. They were very busy and had a waiting room full of people, but they did not.. Haley took the time to talk me down and also went and got Chuck from anesthesiology to ease my mind as well. The staff was amazing and continued to check on me and make sure I was OK until it was time for my procedure, Which by the way was over before I knew it Thanks to Nick and Dr. Ravi. I don’t think they realize how much I appreciate what they did for me today. They are a great team.. I have to give one more shout out to Katie my recovery nurse you are a...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! If I could give zero stars I would! My fiancé was supposed to be seen today for his eye degeneration. In the waiting room as he was checking in they told him he couldn’t be seen today because they had a “glitch” in their system and his appointment was magically canceled. They waited to tell us this until he went to check in. Never called, never reached out. Wasted time, money, and gas. And refused to see him even though he has PROOF of his appointment through text confirmation messages. Because their system had a glitch! WILL NEVER COME BACK! Will be reporting to insurance agency. He has a degenerative eye disease, that needs to be monitored. Due to his condition he had an appointment today to receive laser surgery. And, he gets treated like this! If you have a family with eye problems or just a person in general with serious eye conditions and/or issues, do not come here! Very unprofessional, inconsiderate, and no compassion! For something that’s...
