I’ve waited too many years to write this review. And it’s been haunting me down for years. My name is Brenda Iway and this will be a very long review. A while back (I can’t remember how many years ago) between 5 / 10 Years ago I think , Gold had went up and Mark Peters was buying gold at a decent price. My husband and I decided I wanted to upgrade my wedding ring. Keep the band but get a bigger center diamond. We decided to go through our jeweley box and trade in all of our gold for a bigger diamond. We brought in everything we had. Amongst all of our gold there were many pieces that had diamonds in them. Some big, some small. The salesperson, which I can remember the name said we wouldn’t get anything for the diamonds , just for the gold. They offered a good amount for the gold though. With my blinded eyes thinking of my new close to a carrot oval diamond stone me and my husband agreed on the trade. Something didn’t feel right but my emotions (happiness with my beautiful stone ) overpassed that. My ring was taken in, added the new diamond and off I went to show it off. I told everyone my story, how I traded everything I had for this diamond stone. People would ask me “what did you do with the loose diamonds ?” I responded “they kept them” and the response from everyone till today is what haunted me. “Why didn’t you keep them? , you could’ve made something else or give them to your kids”. I have no idea why I didn’t keep them and the sad part was that the salesperson never even gave me that option. They said they couldn’t give me anything for them then why didn’t they offer them back to me. I know I should’ve said something but I wasn’t thinking at the time (my fault for that) but SHAME ON YOU, salesperson and Mark Peters for taking advantage of me and my husband and not doing the right thing which was give me back my diamonds and just keep the gold. Why is this weighing me down so much? Because amongst those piece was my very first wedding ring from 1989. It was 18K gold with 21 diamonds, a few necklaces with diamonds, and other pieces with tiny diamonds. Yes I know, if it meant that much then why did I trade it in? I have no idea.. but that’s not the point. my point is, why didn’t I get my diamonds back if they were worth nothing like the salesman said. I was and still am so in Love with my new wedding ring But every time I think about it which is almost everyday ) I get this thing in my throat and my heart aches every time. Just be mindful when walking into that store. They will take advantage of you if they can. Brenda Iway Unhappy and...
Read moreLong story short: I'd definitely recommend Mark Peters for engagement rings and wedding bands!
Long story long: My fiancé wanted something very unique for her engagement ring, and Mark Peter's was able to customize a ring exactly to what she had envisioned. Paige was super friendly and SUPER helpful at helping us design the ring and making suggestions for things we never would have thought of. She kept us updated and answered all of our questions along the entire process. She even searched high and low to find the perfect sized diamonds to fit what my fiancé was envisioning. We came back when it was time to get her wedding ring as well. We came in with some ideas and Paige was there again to help find a wedding ring that would match the custom ring. She found numerous options within a few days and had them sent to the store so that we could try all of them on and see them in person, and she found the perfect wedding ring to go with the engagement ring! I can not recommend this place enough. Paige was amazing and made the whole process very easy and stress-free. Thanks again for...
Read moreI have been a customer for more than 1 year. Mark and his incredibly talented staff (primarily Cynthia) helped me design an engagement ring. Not only did Cynthia help design it, but she remained in constant communication with me throughout the process. The ring was PERFECT as I had imagined it. Her customer service has been unsurpassed. She is amazing as is Mark's entire team. My fiancee Emily, (now wife) and I also purchased my wedding band from them as well. When it didn't quite fit upon arrival, they were quick to re-size me and within 2 weeks of marriage, I had my new sized ring. They incurred the shipping cost and expedited the process and called me the minute it arrived. They will forever be our preferred jeweler and I highly recommend them to be yours! There is not 1 bad thing I can say about Mark Peter's Diamond Designs in Plainfield. Customer service, quality of product and professionalism of staff, I will go back anytime. I wish them all the success...
