Weis Markets — Local services in Plains Township

I grew up going to this grocery store. I always loved it up until yesterday. It’s been a problem for almost a month now that everytime I come home with food I find something that is outdated and expired. It’s not my job to make sure that what I’m purchasing is fresh or atleast up to date. Yesterday I purchased ice cream called “skinny cow” and it expired in July of 2018. When I had purchased this ice cream its not like it was stuck in the back or the fridge(even though that’s no excuse) but it was places right in front. Let’s be honest, not many people, I mean I know when I buy ice cream personally I don’t check the expiration date. Regardless to have an item on the shelf 4 months past it’s due date is completely unacceptable, I spent the whole day sick today. I recently visited this store on 11/22/22 and I got in a check out line and the young mans name was Dylan. He was so kind and polite. At the last minute I added a bag of rock salt and without me even having to ask him, he went over and lifted it into my cart. I had surgery a few months back and I have some current health issues, so normally I wait to get stuff like that when I am with my husband. But I saw the good price and got it. It made me smile that he helped in that way. I smiled the whole way home. Kindness has a ripple effect. I don’t know if this young man understands that yet about life. He deserves to be recognized. I was there at 630pm on good Friday and there was only about 20 people in there and only 1 lane open and no waiting now again its Friday night you would think they be busy only 2 days before Easter so that had me wondering why so slow on a busy weekend( Friday night is the weekend to many people) and the sale items were a lot of must buy 3 or even more or pay everyday price if you only want 1 or 2 so then its NOT on sale so I have to buy more then I want or need to get sale price...since when did that start. a sale price should be a sale no matter if I want 1 or 3 or 5. and the eggs... what eggs they only had a 4 foot self with eggs and self was about empty.just think if wal mart only had 4 feet of self space not to high on this store but store was fairly clean and employees...
