My husband and I brought our vehicles (Chevy Traverse and Ram 1500) for an oil change and tire rotation on August 22, 2025. Mike was our advisor, and he appeared to be all over the place (scatter brained and couldnāt focus) and appeared to be on some kind of medication or substance that changed his behavior (I believe I have dealt with Mike in the past, and I donāt recall him acting like this back then). Below are issues we encountered during our visit to Stingrayās service dept:
I asked Mike why my service was more expenses than my husbandās (which 99.9% of the time, his is always more than mine), and he told us that it was because I received the new fuel enhancement and my husband didnāt⦠I never asked for the fuel enhancement (only asked for the standard oil change and tire rotation that we normally get), and I donāt understand why my husband wouldnāt receive it too. Mike said it is āautomatically addedā as a standard practice now and that this is what we can expect from here on out when scheduling oil changes with you guys. The bottom line is that the fuel enhancement was never mentioned to us and yet we were forced to pay for something we did not agree to (even if it was āonly a few extra bucksā like Mike said). Mike didnāt offer any kind of resolution when I told him we didnāt want to pay for that. Furthermore, he could not figure out my husbandās and my receipts/ paperwork, so he stapled the wrong paperwork together which I had to ask him more than once to correct, but then I just asked him for the stapler so I could fix it myself. We arrived at 8:30am for our 9am appt and we didnāt leave the dealership until 11:20am. We had an appointment so we donāt understand why the service dept would take so many appts (and/or walk-ins) when they know they cannot accommodate for everyone in a timely manner. This was my husbandās first experience at Stingray getting his oil changed and it likely will be his last. He rather drive to Winterhaven to get services done than sit at Stingray for nearly 3 hours. If the service dept was better ran, then it would be such a convenient place for our vehicle services, but it is becoming an inconvenience at this point. Mike completely ignored our concerns regarding my vehicle having an issue (EMS service light keeps coming up on my screen and there is a strange rattling sound coming from my engine when starting my vehicle and when in park and idle). Understandably, he said we would need to come in for a separate service appt to have the service done, which was completely understandable and is ok by us, but he said he would have it looked at it regardless so we can get the service scheduled asap, but he didnāt and he failed to follow up with us on our concerns after our services were completed. It was like he was rushing us out and didnāt want to deal with us any longer. It came across as being dismissive and unprofessional. It is important to note that there was a gentleman who was stationed immediately behind Mike that was very friendly and helpful when Mike happened to be MIA and couldnāt be located.
Unfortunately, this was a pretty bad experience and we may not be back again if this is how the service dept is going to operate moving forward. We understand everyone is human and has bad days, but my husband is 100% done since this was his first experience and it was a disaster. It was embarrassing for me when I did nothing but talk you guys up to him and made it sound like it was going to be a good experience. It was anything but a good experience. I am very disappointed, but I hope...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBE WARY when you bring your vehicle for service at Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City. Eric the service coordinator is helpful and courteous. My advice to whoever that read this would be to walk through your vehicle before and after the service.
I brought my 2025 Silverado on 3 separate occasions; 1st visit for oil change on 06/09/2025 and couple days later I noticed a few little deep scratches on my tailgate but at the time I didnāt think much of it. The 2nd visit for warranty work on 06/26/2025, got my truck back same day and when I got home, I noticed a deep scratch about 6ā long on the passenger side of the truck bed. At this point I was sure it wasnāt something I had done, but I knew I canāt prove it was caused by Stingray Chevrolet since I already have the truck in my possession. On 08/01/2025 I brought the truck back in again to get the oil changed, and this time I walked the truck and visually inspected for dings and scratches. When the service was completed I did another walked through and I noticed another deep scratch by my rear door. This time I brought it up to Eric and he explained to me that they take a 360 degrees videos of the vehicle thatās entering the service area for that purpose. Eric went through the video and did not that scratch when my truck entered the service area. And thatās when I brought up the other scratches from the previous visit. Eric agreed to fix the scratches free of charge.
On 08/11/2025 I dropped the truck off at the Stingray Collision Center. They had the truck for 7 days. Upon my arrival to pick it up I inspected the exterior of the truck and everything looked good, I never thought to inspect the interior. The work came out great but there were numerous issues: When I get in my truck, I noticed my gas gauge was at ¾ (I filled it up right before I dropped it off at the collision center). And on the way home I noticed my mileage was at 12387 miles. I am 100% sure when I dropped it off, my truck had NOT hit the 12000 mile mark, my best guesstimate would be at 11800s miles. And conveniently they didn't take a record of my mileage when I dropped it of, they put 11379 which was the mileage when I got the oil changed on 08/01/2025. I saw a bunch of ants on the back seat flooring. There were foot prints on the back seat flooring and dust especially on the back seats The radio was set to FM rock station which I do NOT listen to, I use spotify and Sirius xm. I NEVER use the FM function in the truck. Lastly, I had a 16oz cup with ¾ full of change which is now missing. Maybe I should have taken it out but I never had an issue in the past. I called the collision center with grievances that same day and my contact person was Mike and he denied everything without having conversation with me. He told me none of his people will do that but I do know the interior of my car was dusty, ants all Over the back seats, my change was missing thatās A FACT. So obviously Mikeās people not as honest as he thinks they are. Mikeās fix was to bring it back and they will clean my truck and put 5 gallons of gas in my truck. No thank you Mike!!! You have bigger problems than you admit. I am not looking for a handout, I donāt need my truck cleaned and I donāt need your $ 20 in gas. I want you to fix...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the most insulting experiences of my life. There is a reason I've owned 29 cars, but have never purchased American and it will remain. Stingray Chevrolet contacted me because I posted my 1984 Porsche 944 for sale. The contact, Ramona asked if I was looking to trade in the vehicle and I said no, I just want to sell a Porsche because I have 4 and it's one too many. I told her that my cars are not typically the type that car dealers, let alone Chevy dealer would buy. She assured me that the office manager is a Porsche collector and would be interested. Still, I didn't take the inquiry seriously until 2 weeks later she called me again after I missed the first appointment. So, I decided to let them take a look at the car, but at great inconvenience to me because I live 33 miles away. Ramona assured me it would be worth my time. When I arrived, the receptionist handed me over to Bob the salesman. I want to say this was an old schooled gentleman, who slightly reminded me of segregation. The encounter immediately got off on the wrong foot. Bob had no knowledge of classic Porsches and started saying my vin was incorrect because he confused an E for an F. Then he started dismissing the vehicle without truly examining it, saying there was a problem with the title when I had a clean title in hand. The title just had an exemption limit because of the cars age. He asked me how much I'm looking to get out the car and I told him the listed price $8700. (A great deal for an excellent running 944, remember I just drove 33 miles in a 41 year old car) Bob came back and offered me $800. That was one of the most insulting exchanges I've ever had, but kind of expected, given how things started. If you don't want to buy the car, say we can't take it, but the Porsche Cup 1 rims and new Toyo tires are worth more than $800 alone. I was insulted by the disrespect of my time, I was very honest and clear about the vehicle. I think this is the kind of method entry level dealerships use. Chevy can't get you excited to buy their cars so they catfish on the internet, disguising themselves as interested buyers to only lowball you on your price and try to get you into a vehicle. The difference is I have 4 Porsche, 5 including my wife's Audi Q7 we purchased earlier this year. The Audi of Tampa experience was incredible and offered us a really far price on our Porsche Cayenne trade-in. I think Stingray Chevrolet operates under the concept that it's potential customers aren't affluent and can tolerate trick tactics and a waste of their time. To everyone still reading, your time is worth so much more. Buy from a dealership with ethics, buy vehicles that retain their value. Buy from a dealership that has the best, polite salesmen. I will say Geoff was really great as I left. He was polite and kind. He has the personal touch of a Porsche or...
