I hesitated on sharing my review as I really did end up liking my ring. However, the process of getting it done was extremely stressful. I would like to make everyone aware of this situation.
My husband proposed to me with his grandmothers ring. A 50-60 year old family heirloom. It's an absolutely beautiful ring. I had brought the ring in and talked to Russ a couple times about what I wanted for a band and a few small adjustments I wanted made prior to leaving it there. I felt confident at the time I dropped it off. They had told me that they would design it up and send me a picture and quote by email within a couple weeks. I did not receive an email so I figured when I got my hair done next door, I'd swing in and get an update after. When I walked into Main Street Jewelers to get an update, they could not even find my ring! They even questioned if I had ever dropped it off!! So I walked to the truck to grab the receipt for proof(almost in tears) and when I got back in they had told me that my ring is in California at L A Jewelers being made. I was 100% under the impression that Main Street Jewelers did all the work. But when it was questioned, I found out they do very little work on your rings that you leave with them. So here's our family heirloom being shipped across states when you think it's still safe in their possession. They tried to comfort me by telling me it's insured for 50k but that doesn't matter when it's got sentimental value like that!
Then, when they called and told me the ring was finished, I got there and it wasn't. So here I was, right before my wedding and in a panicking over something I thought I could trust them with! But like I said, my ring turned out beautiful but I really wish they made everyone aware that they ship your jewelry away instead of doing...
Read moreWhat started as a heartbreaking experience, turned into something absolutely AMAZING ... thanks to Russ and DeAnne. Russ made my wedding ring almost 20 years ago. My husband and I did one upgrade with Russ along the way, and I have always been absolutely thrilled with the outcome of his quality work. Last year, while on a road trip, I lost my wedding ring. If this has ever happened to you, it's the most gut-wrenching experience. I never thought another ring would compare to the beautiful piece I had for almost 20 years. Until now. I started the process by going in months ago and choosing my center stone. Russ took his time bringing in different stones from which I could choose from based on what I was looking for. From there, I returned to do phase 2 of building the bands around the center stone. Russ insists I was the one that designed the ring - and while yes, I did know what I wanted and communicated that - Russ and DeAnne absolutely guided me on some specifics that made the ring absolutely stunning. Details I would have never thought of. When I went in to pick up my completed piece, I was SPEECHLESS. This never happens ... LOL. I couldn't even believe my eyes. Not only on the sheer beauty and brilliance of the piece, but how comfortable the ring is to wear (which was a suggestion by Russ and DeAnne on how to create the piece for wearability). Needless to say, I would absolutely, without a doubt recommend Main Street Jewelers. Their attention to detail, ability to listen to their customers, and the sheer pride they take in completing your dream piece is unlike anything I have ever experienced. To Russ and his team ... THANK YOU for turning what was a very sad day into something...
Read moreOn my way back to omaha from falls city I stopped at an estate sale in auburn and bought a small jewelry box with misc items in it. Found a couple gold rings in it and decided to stop at the nearest jewelry store to see if one had a real diamond in it. Both Russ and another associate looked at it and told me it was a fake diamond-was real gold though but only offered me 50% of scrap price for it. THANK GOD I didn’t sell it because I stopped at Sols for a second opinion on the gold and to my surprise, turns out it IS a real diamond! A THREE CARAT VS QUALITY ONE WORTH $30,000!!! These guys tried ripping me off for it because they saw the price tag of $10 on the jewelry box I bought. He looked at the ring with a magnifier like 3 times too! They new damn well that it was real too because it says that they are GIA certified diamond specialists! I cant decipher what I’m more shocked by right now-the fact that I got an awesome diamond ring or the fact that these people tried...
