Took my 3 year old and 5 year old daughters to their first tutu dance trial at the beginning of summer. They had to sign up for different classes. I knew my eldest daughter would love it. For my 5 year old, she went when they were rehearsing for their performance. Even though she didn’t know they dance moves and routine, they accommodated her and included her. She did great and followed along. I was more worried about my youngest daughter. She’s never been in a structured class and loves to be silly. During her trial class, to my amazement, she did great and listened to the teacher 70% of the time. She was more interested in the other dancers but that’s not surprising since she’s been socially isolated because of Covid. The teacher gave her clear instructions and supported her when needed. They make it really playful and fun. Signed both girls up and they wanted to go everyday! Luckily for them, they have unlimited classes during the summer and I have summers off. I’ve been taking each girl 1-3 times per week. Sometimes when the numbers are very low both girls can be in the same class. But, I can definitely see why they separate the students by age. I love how they vary the activities weekly (parachute, bubbles, feathers, scarves, letters, wands, plushies, and etc). As for the teachers, we’ve had classes with 4 different teachers. They are all very welcoming and full of smiles. My youngest has a hard time listening and needs a more firm approach and the teachers are very patient with her but will follow through with what they say. After many corrections and warnings, I had to pull her aside until she’s ready. Despite that, she loves going to class and would ask me everyday if she can go to dance class! We’ve also tried tutu online, my eldest was able to follow and enjoyed it. However my youngest one wasn’t as interested. I would definitely recommend tutu school for anyone that’s interested! You can try out for a free trial class and see how...
Read moreI cannot say enough wonderful things about the Tutu school where my daughter attends. From the moment we stepped foot in the studio, we felt welcomed and embraced by the warm and friendly staff. But what truly makes this place special is the incredible teacher, Miss Sarah. My daughter adores her! Miss Sarah's passion for dance is contagious, and her patience and dedication to her students are commendable.
What makes Miss Sarah even more remarkable is her ability to connect with children from diverse backgrounds. Despite my daughter not speaking English yet, Miss Sarah has found the perfect approach to communicate with her, making her feel included and understood. The way she uses body language, facial expressions, and gentle encouragement is truly heartwarming to witness.
She creates a nurturing environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and a genuine love for ballet. My daughter's progress has been remarkable, and I credit Miss Sarah's guidance and expertise for her growth and confidence. I am grateful to have found such a nurturing and inspiring place for my child's dance journey. Thank you, Tutu school, and a special thanks to Miss Sarah for making every class a joyous experience for...
Read moreOur family has really enjoyed Tutu School. We enrolled in May and our daughter has shown progress in what she's learned. One great thing about summer classes is the ability to take unlimited make-up (extra) classes, so we have taken a couple extra classes just to boost her skills. Our daughter enjoys the challenge of ballet, but I think that some of the most important lessons, especially for toddlers, are how to watch and listen. That is such an important skill for kids to learn. The teachers are really great at getting the kids to pay attention, and very patient when they don't. Even with their great patience, they kindly demonstrate the appropriate boundaries for acceptable behavior in class, never raising their voices, but kindly, clearly and sweetly making their expectations known. Very good foundation for preschoolers. Looking forward to another year with...
