So for context, I like cars, but know very little about them and their maintenance. I had another mechanic let me know what was going on according to codes, along with my maintenance history, which was non-existent, and let me know I should expect anywhere in the neighborhood of 2-3,000 dollars. This for me, as for most people I imagine, was a nightmare and a mountain of stress. Before I came to Sergio with my car, I'd learned nothing but horror from people talking about getting ripped off at other places.
While dealing with a literal worst case scenario with my vehicle, I have to say Sergio was likely the best case scenario for my needs. I got to watch him interact with patrons who were just doing business, in and out, and not one that I saw while there looked unhappy with his service, and I share the sentiment.
It took a little longer than I'd anticipated, but I also didn't know enough to tell them exactly what needed to happen. Each day I came in, and Sergio took the time to tell me what they'd done, what they had narrowed out of the potential problems list according to the code. He kept me posted on what the cost of parts was looking like as he figured it out, and what the bill was so that I could keep track, and I was a little more optimistic each day. In the end, I spent about half of what I'd expected to be shelling out, while also having my oil and filters all cycled, and put part of that to renting a nicer car than I intended from the enterprise across the street. I'd also set up an appointment to get other necessary maintenance that I've neglected looked at over there next month. They did nothing to my car beyond what I had asked without contacting me and making sure it was ok, and that gave me a great deal of ease of mind.

I had a recurring fluid leak that German Sport attempted to repair several times over a short period of time. Specifically, the rear seal was replaced three times. German Sport suggested the PCV might need to be addressed but they were unable to make this repair at the time. To my dismay, I noticed a leak within one day after I brought the vehicle home. I lost confidence in German Sport to provide the diagnostic and mechanical expertise to fix the PCV issue due to the failed attempts to date. Subsequently, I took my vehicle to a local dealership for a second opinion. The dealership concluded the PCV was not causing the fluid leak, rather a transmission service was needed.
