4 star - 1/19/18 I'm in here from time to time grabbing cables for the kids' video games or other electronic items when we need something right away and can't wait for Amazon. Most recently was a few months ago after being burglarized and having my cash, guns, credit cards, keys, and more stolen from my home. While CPD continues their investigations, I decided to make life a little more simple by adding high-grade, low-profile, home security! Best Buy employees were really knowledgeable about the best cameras and equipment and other tools used to secure a home's interior and exterior, without making you look like some paranoid freak with cameras everywhere. Having some low-life steal from you is the worst. People can be terrible. But they can also be amazing, like the ones who got everything set up to make my home safe again. And especially the friends who stay in our home with our pets while we're gone now. it's nice to have reliable people in your life you can trust, and for the moments they can't be there, it's nice to have a local store that can hook up crazy good security.
3 star - 2/8/13 LOOKS AREN'T EVERYTHING ~ IT'S WHAT'S INSIDE THAT COUNTS Lucky for Best Buy they're looking good on the inside! Not sure when it was remodeled (or if I've just never noticed it before) but it seems so different and new. I like it. Bright, sparkly blue floor - it's very pretty! Very open and filled with natural light. Organized well. Overall, it looks very nice. We stopped in on Super Bowl Sunday (not realizing how close it was to game time!) That worked to our advantage as there weren't many people in the store. We were helped almost right away in the camera department. But I do have to say that we stood next to the employee and people he was helping (a couple with a new camera purchase that the employee was setting up for them), and he didn't even acknowledge us or say "I'll be right with me" or something generic. It wasn't a long wait, but "thanks for waiting patiently" goes a long way too. I was looking for a universal battery charger that would work with our Nikon. When it was our turn he pointed us to the area where it would be and described the item and packaging we needed. It was literally only a few feet away. We were still looking for it when he finished helping the couple who had been waiting after us. He came over and explained why we hadn't found it. Unfortunately, the item we needed was out of stock. So here's what gets me. I told him I needed it for an event three days later and asked when it would be back in stock. He said he didn't know but it would likely be within a day or two. So I called a day later. Then two days later. And then I went to Fry's and bought a similar one for $50. I called on the third day just to see if they had it then but it still hadn't been restocked. Please don't say a day or two when it's more like four or five, and I need it in three. I bought my item in the end, so it worked out for me. And the one I bought works with many types of batteries, and adjusts to fit many sizes. So it's pretty cool. Thought of the day: You know what would be smart? For a big electronics store like this to host a superbowl party. Section off an area or do it outside on a projector. Have a giant screen, and other screens of varying size, all with the game on. (And all available for purchase!) Maybe do a 5% off for each touchdown sale or something. SportsBasement has parties sometimes - and they serve food and alcohol!
Four star - 6/3/12 This Best Buy location has a great selection of electronics and other items, just like most Best Buy stores or other stores of the same type. There's a new Fry's in Concord ("new" = a few years old now - but newer than Best Buy; and I remember both of them going in). Fry's has a comparable selection of products but often they would win in a price war vs. Best Buy. Possibly because they have more options, which helps keep...
Read moreI purchased an open box TV online that was in “excellent condition” three days later it stopped working, I brought it to the Pleasant hill store to return it and one of the associates was pretty helpful and nice, he told the manager Britney that he found a cockroach on the box, this manager totally assumed the cockroach came straight from my house. THIS WAS AN OPEN BOX TV, it could’ve been from the previous home! However, she made a huge deal about it and gave me so much attitude saying that she can’t have that box inside HER store and that I had to take it outside. This was a 75” TV, not an easy thing to move around! I was with my husband and my dad that has back problems! The Best Buy associates were trying to help us taking it outside and she stopped them and demanded to return to their places because they can’t do that. (Help the customer) she then told us to get rid of the roaches outside and make sure that the TV is not infested. So we went outside and had to take out the TV, kill the cockroaches and put the TV back inside the box, pretty heavy TV and my dad is a senior with back problems! Totally inconsiderate. Then we brought it back inside ourselves, because she wouldn’t even let her associates help us push the box, once inside I was just trying to be done with it and get my money back! I was gonna exchange the TV but at that point I just wanted my refund and get out of there. The associate that was currently helping me (was pretty nice) was talking to her through the speaker and I could notice she kept making problems, so I asked him what’s going on? And he didn’t want to tell me to not escalate it even more. Then he goes like let me explain to you the situation, our policy is that if you lay the TV down that can damage the components and that won’t be returnable. I was like, she didn’t even bothered to mention that!! She was looking at us while we were getting rid of the cockroaches, it was already very difficult to handle such a heavy TV and she couldn’t say anything!! Neither allow her employees to help us!!! I felt like they wanted to set us up!! So I asked the associate to call her, she gave me a dirty look and walked towards me, I told her “if you don’t want to process my refund” for a defective item of yours!!! That lasted 3 days!!! JUST TELL ME!! She goes like we have to make sure that you did not damage it while laying it down! I go like, well if you would’ve let your employees help us!!!! They know the right way of handling it!!! Looks like you are trying to set me up!!! Completely rude, helpless, terrible terrible attitude to be a store manager! This customer service sucks!!! I will escalate this issue to the corporate! My dad has back problems and she prevented her employees from helping us!! She should be disciplined! Your loss! I was going to buy another TV and get a credit card but now forget about it!!! Never coming back to...
Read more10/18/2019 Now I know why everyone shops on line. Went to the Best Buy Store in Pleasant Hill California to purchase chargers, cords and other accessories for iPhone and the equipment to use to stream from my new Vizio TV that I purchased at Best Buy a year ago. I like to shop at the actual store so I can ask questions and get help.I had to go to the tech support desk and a sales person met me in the department. He had NO CLUE what I needed. Then I went to the TV department a sales person who didn't appear to be doing anything, said she would get me some help in a little while. Needless to say, I left the store. Might as well shop on Amazon....... 2018 Frustrated. I needed a new printer so I went to Best Buy. A sales person from Canon was helping in the printer section. She was extremely helpful and pleasant. Of course she was trying to see me a Canon, but helped me look at the Epson & HP. We discussed what I was looking for in a printer. The Canon was did not have what I needed. She did tell me that I could get a discount on my old printer if I brought it in . I decided to decide online exactly what printer I wanted with the information she had helped me with. The next day I returned to the store to look for the printer I I wanted. When I finally found a clerk to help and asked for a specific printer he told me they didn't have one. I informed him that the pleasant Hill Website said they did. He finally found a computer that worked and said yes they had two. He had to get a ladder to get it. I asked a question about one thing, he had no idea. I went to my car to get my computer to recycle and he took my new computer to the costumer service counter which had a very long line. When the clerk started to ring it up, he said there was no discount because it was an Epson that I was buying. Once again I referred to what I had read on line, and was told I was wrong. He finally got another clerk, who at least listened to me but told me I must be mistaken. He finally found what I had been talking about and gave me the $150 discount. Recycle discount $100 + the sale discount of $50. I am glad I had done my homework, or I would have left the store with nothing. So thanks to the Canon Rep and my ability to search the web. The store was crowded, not so much with people as it was with boxes in the aisles. Yes I realize that Black Friday is in a few days. Now I remember why the local stores are going out of business. Knowledgeable, friendly clerks are...
