Anytime Fitness — Local services in Poplar Grove Township

This specific Anytime Fitness is personally the most professional/nicest gym I’ve been too. The owner and staff are great to work with, providing a fantastic experience when it comes to becoming a better/healthier self through working out at the gym. The information they give you is top notch, supplying you with everything you need and more.

The owner is great and very personal while doing everything in his power to provide you with a positive experience. (Which he goes above and beyond to do). If your ever there when the owner stops in, he always makes an effort to stop and talk with each person at the gym, making sure their having a positive experience while answering any questions you might have. The staff are also on that same level, making the gym feel fun and active. They all have a great background and knowledge when it comes to the health and fitness world. They are more than happy to give you all the tools you need to better yourself while providing you with great support along the way. They make you feel like family.

The gym itself is super clean, providing you with everything you need when it comes to health and fitness. The workout equipment is great and well taken care of. There have been plenty of gyms I’ve been to that smell old and musty/gross. This is NOT one of them. Everything is clean and overall of great quality.

My opinion, make the extra 7 -10 minute drive to Belvidere for some gyms who care about the people in their community more.

My main issue with this gym was (is) getting the membership cancelled. The owner (Paul) confirmed my cancellation in July. I get charged again in August and again confirm cancellation with Paul. Long story short, I now have to dispute this through my credit card and provide evidence of cancellation (which I have). It s taken 3 months and counting to try and get them to do the right thing.

There is a third party that bills you, the parent company (ABC I believe). When trying to cancel and get refunded, there is a lot of finger pointing back and forth between the owner and the biller, no one will to admit a mistake, which doesn't help the customer at all.

Basically the whole thing is a huge pain to the customer which could easily be avoided. It almost seems as they just want to frustrate you to the point of forgetting about it. If you do this at 38 dollars a pop to enough people, and they give up, I imagine you make a nice chunk of change.

The gym is OK. It's got everything you need. It's usually not too crowded. I would say it's a little on the pricey side for what you can get elsewhere. However, it's the only Gym in Poplar Grove open to the public that I know of, so they get away with it for now. I imagine people would enjoy another...

I recently joined this Anytime Fitness and I am extremely impressed with the gym. The facilities are top-notch and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is open 24/7, which is perfect for my busy schedule. The equipment is well-maintained and there is a wide variety of machines and weights to choose from. The gym is always clean and well-organized, which makes for a great workout environment. I also appreciate the fact that there are plenty of towels and cleaning supplies available to keep the equipment clean.
