Panda Garden — Restaurant in Poplar Grove Township

I Love the food here and friendly service that is why it gets the last 2 stars. The reasons for the 3 stars off are: The CASH ONLY issue that they always have! Not only that, but the 10 or less cash only. Seriously who does that anymore in a business. I thought it was for nights only. So i avoided it. Now for 3 days in a row, it has been cash only, on 3 different times a day. I have driven out of my way numerous times and wasted gas and time to consume there. Again, i love the food but i can't be doing this all the time. I feel like they rather loose a customer or more than one that consumes regularly than update consumer payment options. If this continues, i will no longer support this business. Until they decide to operate like a regular and any other business, the 2 stars instead of 5 they can get will remain and so will this review.

Just a heads up, the food is very greasy, maybe about what you would expect from fast food chinese food though. Also, cstomers can't ask for a side of meat. Of course i am more than willing to pay for it, i can't because it is an Inconvenience to cook it on the other part of the grill. Her words exactly "we can't, we have to cook on other side." Whaat? Unbeliavable.

My first visit Wednesday and I was so disappointed. The positive part is the restaurant is very clean. The negative is basically no meat in the dish. My friend and I both ordered 2 different dishes, I had chicken and she had a variety. But dishes had meat so thin a small I could not tell my onion from the chicken. Born and raised in Chicago I can tell a good ethic dish. Even living in the Western Suburbs of Chicago I weekly very often for Chinese food as it has always been my favorite. Living in Belvidere for over a decade I am still yet to find a place to order my favorite ethic dish. Also- This establishment has all paper products that they use no real plates and they do not wait on tables you self order which is no biggie but they will not serve you a glass of water with ice as they say they have no ice so they want you to purchase drinks from their self standing cooler. Because they serve on foam plates which is a hazard to our environment I was not only so so disappointed in the food but not happy they they are not at all environmentally conscious. So have had food here before and it was always decent but last night we got take out and when i was eating my singapore chow mei fun there was a big zip tie in my food that had put a fork full in my mouth without seeing it and when i bit down i was confused by the hard pieces i chewed on. I spit out my food and low and be hold there was a zip tie on my plate and it was the same color as my food so it had to have been cooked with it. Out of all the things i could find in my food that one takes the cake. I am deeply upset and grossed out and a little scared that i could have accidentally swallowed this and could have choked. If i could give this place negative stars i would. Beware of the food here especially if you have kids.
