Cant say enough for Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe..have always had a great experience. Last Saturday after paddling with a fabulous group in Ridgefield I headed to Alder Creek in Jantzen Beach. I'd had such a good time the week before with them.. the sales staff was amazing helping me pick the right boat for me, the right paddle and they even helped me get it on my car. Today, well boat in the rack I couldnt figure out how to secure it. Did my best but made me late to Tyron Cove. Wow what another fabulous expierence. I told Dave what happened and said instead of me taking time to unload my boat Id just use thier..Dave, helped me get my boat and the other paddlers were very kind. What a wonderful expierence. Helped me in and out, helped me get boat to and from put in. And on top of everything took time teaching me how to strap it down..Get trip with so many memories the first time in my boat..Thank you everyone...and more important I hope you will all be encouraged to paddle...
Read moreA moderately-priced paddle shop with kind, down-to-earth staff. I know there's not a huge profit to be made in the whitewater industry, but that doesn't seem to matter at Alder Creek. People there are happy because they love paddling, and it's easy to feel the stoke. If you're looking to try a new boat they'll let you demo one for free. There's also some pretty good deals on gear at the end of the summer. If you just want to buy a cheap-repaired-cracked-used boat go to Craig's list. However, if you're a newbie and don't know what will be right for you or don't mind spending more money for a shiny new boat you can use for a long time then I recommend Alder Creek. For paddling accessories they have most of the important things, especially Werner paddles. Alder Creek also helps foster the local boating community through events like the Northwest Creeking Comp every year. This is a huge gathering for NW boaters and a very...
Read morePurchased an Eddyline tandem kayak during their Spring 2024 sale. It was our first boat purchase and first time we were loading a boat on our minivan. Malloy (sp?) was very helpful, professional and patient. He stayed even after closing to guide us on how to load the boat. The boat is quite long: 18 feet , 73# and our minivan roof is over 6' tall. He especially gave us tips to prevent damage to the boat as well as to keep us from injuring ourselves. He did not try to upsell or pressure us at all even though our rack setup was not optimal. Malloy was very knowledgeable about kayak modifications and counseled us on the safest and most necessary perimeter lines that we were considering adding to the boat. We feel very confident that if there is any problem with the kayak that Alder Creek will help Eddyline make it right. We would recommend Alder Creek to our friends and will purchase...
