
Don’t rent unless you want your items to be late. We rented chairs for our wedding and everything was fine until the actual day they were to be dropped off. We had it schedule for 11:00am with our guest arriving after 1130am. On the way to our ceremony my fiancé called to tell me the chairs have not arrived, and no one even called to let us know they would be late. It wasn’t until he called checking on them at 11:10am did their representatives Melissa, let him know it was late and instead of apologizing she got defensive about the situation. Not only that but she was very rude and told him it was our fault for scheduling it that way and there was no way we would of setup everything up on time for our guests. There wouldn’t have been a problem if they would of let us know the moment they knew they were behind on schedule. When I called to get an ETA she told me she couldn’t tell me where the delivery crew were just that they were headed there and we would only get a $50 refund. We never got an apology and instead got blamed for how we set the time. If my paperwork states that delivery was 11:00am I would expect that what I had ordered was there at 11:00am. The crew finally arrived at about 11:20-11:25am. After our ceremony was over you would think they would be professional to send an apology email of some sort but I guess they think what they did was appropriate enough since $50 was refunded. we rented with Ardent for our wedding, and had a great experience until the day of the wedding when they left out 4 tables that were important to the ceremony. when we noticed (4 hours before the ceremony), i called Ardent and they put me on a 30 minute hold before our rep was available.
their apology felt very insincere and they said it was our responsibility to check that everything was loaded on the truck. (my 70 year old father-in-law picked up the order, and he was ensured beforehand that he wouldn't have to do any loading or checking- it's not like he was the one with the clipboard.) they then said there was nothing they could do, and insisted they couldn't even refund me for the tables they had forgotten to give us, which i felt was a given.. i had to press them to check with a manager and they finally called me back saying they would refund us for the tables.
i totally understand that mistakes happen, but they handled the situation very poorly and made an already stressful day even more stressful. i felt they should have been much more apologetic and helpful in making the situation right/ finding a solution rather than blaming their customer on their...
