Essance Skincare — Local services in Portland

As a former skin care reviewer (and doing it again now!) I was intrigued by a new-to-me line of skin care that was completely organic and included something I have never heard of: Dragon's Blood.

I used the Dragon's Blood serum for an entire month, slotting it in with the rest of my usual skin care routine so I would know for sure if had an impact.

It did! I am impressed with this serum. My 57 year old skin is brighter and dare I say, a bit bouncier.

This serum has a ton of fantastic and healthy oils included in the ingredients. I hadn't even heard of a few those either. But the Dragon's Blood serum was NEVER greasy and absorbed quickly and well, forming a fantastic base for whatever I wanted to add next. I tried it at various times with suncreen and another serum next; layering was no problem.

I also used it the morning after the nights I use prescription retinoin (Tretinoin) and it did a nice job of soothing the minor occasional irritation I get.

The only aspect of this serum I wasn't fond of was the smell which seems to mostly come from the sea buckthorn oil. I had used this before and while it's not my personal favorite aroma, it's more earthy than terrible and dissipates quickly.

I first discovered Essance Products during the New Seasons beauty sale in 2020. I had been slowly researching and making the switch to an organic beauty and skin care routine. Actually being able to recognize and pronounce the ingredients I was putting on my skin was becoming important to me.

I grabbed an Air deodorant and the Dragons Blood Moisturizer because I had wanted to try a moisturizer with Chaga Mushroom to start with.

Since 2020 I have converted to the Essance Skincare line and am constantly complimented on how great my skin looks. I use the Dragons Blood Toner and switch between the Dragon's Blood and Revitalizing Moisturizer depending on how my skin feels that day.

The one thing that I was hesitant about and now carry with me everywhere is the sun creme; I love how it smells and feels. The application process can take a few times to get used to since it is thicker than conventional sunscreen. Still, I have been hiking at high altitudes all summer, and my skin hasn't gotten burned once.

Also, the new organic lipstick keeps your lips hydrated for hours and full of ingredients that aren't toxic to ingest when you're eating and drinking.

I have used allot of top shelf skincare products and Essance is absolutely the best of the BEST! When I meet Jasmine the owner she gave me some samples and was so kind and fun to talk to to! I took them home and admired the scents of each one. The texture of the product is creamy and rich, just the loving my skin had been looking for with all the harsh seasons and damage I have put it through! After using the Revitalizing Face Wash, toner, serum, and moisturizer for a week I could feel a mega difference in the health of my skin. The dry patches were gone, no more oily spots.
