Tropical Salvage — Local services in Portland

In spite of a large yard with many different plants, shrubs & trees, as well as a variety of features (e.g. walking path, statues, bird bath, vine covered archways, sitting bench, pagodas, etc), I couldn’t get past the three exposed septic tank lids amongst the grassy part of the yard. I’ve spent the better part of a year trying come up with an idea to camouflage these without planting something with roots that would eventually work its way into the septic tanks/ pipes. Finally, we decided to go TROPICAL SALVAGE (we’ve shopped there many times before), knowing they would probably have yard art to consider. Little did we know it would take less than five minutes to find our “iconic centerpiece”…a teak tree root bench!!! Just add a bit of landscaping, and mission accomplished!! Bought two different dressers, the wood is just beautiful inside and out. Purchased without guilt knowing more trees are not being cut down. The wood is solid and dense, each piece has individual character, the overall cabinets appear to have no mass factory products sans possibly the recessed and bird drawer pulls...

We've always been huge fans of Tropical Salvage and accumulated a number of pieces over the years. Not only are they gorgeous, they have sourcing I can feel good about. I know that these are pieces that will be with us for the long run.
