Unreal - Ive never had such a disrespectful experience at a bar before. Im sober and I had ordered an NA beer - after I ordered the man left the bar and started cleaning tables, then came back with a can, already opened, that was alcoholic. I took a sip and realized it had alcohol in it and told them that I cant drink it and that I cant drink alcohol. He man half apologized, made some joke about me looking young (?) - I told him very sternly that Im sober. Then the woman at the bar grabbed me the drink I had ordered and asked "what - are you allergic?" and I again told her very sternly, "Im sober." Absolutely none of her business anyway. I take my sobriety incredibly seriously and really could not believe how disrespectful they both were about it. Later while I went to the bar to close out - the man saw I was there, started to walk over, then turned away and ignored me and gave me a side eye then proceeded to help another customer. Not to mention - oh my god they take forever to make drinks. My first round, I ordered two drinks and Im not kidding it took 10 minutes. One of them was from a bottle that they were just supposed to pour into a glass. Ive never ever had an issue at any bar in Portland or anywhere else. I guess don't go here if you don't drink. Especially if you're maintaining your sobriety? Never ever going...
Read moreYou had me at vegan berry compote waffle đ
I came here with my friend for a final brunch before my flight back home. We had originally wanted to go to another brunch spot with some vegan pancakes but they required reservations and were all out until the afternoon. No dice. Undeterred, my friend pulled out her phone and found this gem!
I got the berry compote waffle (was debating the Elvis waffle bc of the peanut butter but if you are a berry fanatic like me, you wonât regret the berry compote), and wow YUM. I think my friend got a half of the savory waffle and mushroom which was actually quite good too but mine was better :) I took away the other half of my order so I had something for lunch/dinner on the plane!
My friend also got a smoothie but I canât remember which one. I do remember that I got the wellness elixir shot, which I was apprehensive about but wanted to try because âit must be good for me!â It actually tasted pretty good to my surprise, and the apple was great afterwards to help with the spicy cayenne (thanks to the server for recommending it!) would also highly recommend that for a good wake up shot.
Anyways, yum Iâm actually happy the other brunch place was all reserved up so I could experience this delicious berry waffle and also feel better about myself with a good ole healthy shot. Thank you,...
Read moreThe male bartender was so wasted that he struggled to speak, was visibly unsteady, and messed up my tableâs check. Itâs a cute establishment, but I have NEVER been served by such a drunk and inept bartender.
EDIT: Fortunately, the reply speaks 100% accurately to my experience of the character of this establishmentâand was a good reminder to specifically describe the circumstances of a bad review. They did in fact place our to-go order on a separate tab, after charging one party for our entire drink tab despite our instruction to split. Assuming the rest of the (to-go) order wasnât coming, we left so as not to waste more of our time on poor service and watered down drinks, which didnât bear mentioning in the original service-oriented review, but I think an discerning reader would certainly agree deserves to be mentioned now.
The bartender shouted after us, chased us down the sidewalk, and called us back into the bar to hand over our food and demand we pay for the new to-go tab. He only provided half the food ordered (but only charged for what we were given) so we paid the tab, took the food order we were given, and left this review behind.
I recommend Three Doors Down and The Moon and SixPence for bars in a similar area with great service, sober staff, and...
