I recently visited the Cato's in Portsmouth, VA, and I have to say, I was incredibly disappointed with the way things unfolded during my time there. As I was browsing, I noticed two women at the front who were being treated with blatant disrespect by one of the associates. It was clear that these ladies were trying to engage in a simple conversation, yet the workers responded with snarky comments and a dismissive attitude that was completely uncalled for.What struck me the most was how calm and respectful the two women remained throughout the ordeal. They didn’t raise their voices or retaliate, yet the employees continued to talk down to them, making the atmosphere feel tense and uncomfortable. It was disheartening to witness such unprofessional behavior, especially in a retail environment where customer service should be a priority.I had initially planned to purchase some new clothes for myself and my daughter, but after seeing how the workers treated those women, I felt compelled to take a stand. I refused to spend my money in a place that allowed such prejudice and disrespect to occur. It’s a shame because I was looking forward to shopping there, but I simply couldn’t support a business that treats its customers in such a demeaning manner. I love Cato and I just went looking for the new Portsmouth location.I couldn't find it. I Always am at home and welcomed so warmly at Cato Fashions, Western Branch. All the ladies are super excellent with their Customer Service, never to busy to introduce new styles or take a minute to check an item. And they are consistent.
