We enjoyed our first trip to Warehouse Willy’s! However, my husband’s ribeye was not as big as a dinner plate like in the pictures. In fact, he said it didn’t have much marbling or fat and he swore it was a New York Strip. He has had ribeyes for years at multiple restaurants, so he knows his ribeyes. So he was underwhelmed with the ribeye, which is sad because that is what this restaurant is known for and why we drive 40 minutes to the restaurant! So I took off 2 stars. The gumbo needs some more meat, either chicken or sausage (it was supposed to have shrimp, but we could only locate tiny pieces of crawfish). It also tasted tomatoey, instead of having that dirty brown taste like a Cajun or Creole gumbo. My filet mignon was delicious, although surprisingly expensive at $53.99. I loved my baked potato! We will probably come back because I know I will crave the filet mignon and the baked potato. My husband said he will try something different next time. I am hoping he gives the ribeye one more chance. I don’t think that was their traditional cut that he got! Today is Tuesday,...
Read moreThe ambiance was eclectic and in our wheelhouse, but it’s a restaurant not an art show with music.
We were seated rather quickly but the waiter didn’t show up for a few minutes. He was cordial but really didn’t make enough stops at the table to see how we were doing. I asked for decaf hot tea and was told that they had it. When the tea arrived I had to ask again due to severe trouble with caffeine about. Then I was told that the tea was un-sweetened not decaffeinated, I appreciate the honesty. So the tea had to be returned.
Not knowing this restaurant we did ask our waiter what would he recommend. He stated the steak was good and his favorite was the stuffed shrimp. So we ordered the stuffed shrimp. It was truly a disappointment. The portions and the quality of our plate was certainly not as expected. A plate of food for $20.00 with dry crackers for appetizers and we were charged for the butter to put on the crackers. So Sad for Willy! We will...
Read moreI've been to this restaurant three times. Each time I've been met with food ranging from mediocre at very best to down right sickening. The prices are outrageous. $21 for a great steak is acceptable if not the norm but this was NOT a great or an even good steak. After the third attempt at a medium-rare cook I finally just ate this chunk of rawhide because I was hungry and fed up. The atmosphere is a dimly lit, almost macabre, attempt at New Orleans style dining. The waitresses are inattentive if not completely absent adolescents who act like you're an inconvenience to them and the management, when complained to only offered an insincere "sorry". On Friday and Saturday nights it's common to see a line of people reaching half way around the building waiting to get in for this abuse. But those folks are most likely sadists. They should rename it Willy's Dungeon for the heaping helpings of torture they hand out. In short, me and mine will opt for...
