FOLLOW UP: The newest manager left the message below. I did call, but got no call back, and it goes straight to a vm. I emailed, but have no response. So beware the friendly "we'll make it right" sounding responses you see from Preston on these reviews.
I saved up and bought a Mazda from Preston in June, and it has been a nightmare ever since. I still don't have plates or a title four months later, despite having paid it off in July. The salesperson didn't even show up when I picked up the car. They charged me something like $60 for a tank of gas and once I drove away I realized it was so far on empty, I almost got stranded driving home. Had to take it back the next day because despite being 'inspected', there were lights and other things not working - and they tried hard to charge me to repair them. The financial person I dealt was no longer an employee about a week later. The manager I dealt with for the repairs is no longer an employee - the crazy amount of turnover means you will never see anyone you dealt with again. Only one person there is helpful or responsive, and as hard as she has tried, they still can't get me plates or my title because people in other departments keep screwing things up. She has tried to get management to contact me, and they simply won't. Meanwhile, I got rear-ended and took the car to their body shop. I paid over a thousand dollars for the repair, only to pick it up and have a deep scrape down to the primer on the front edge that was not there when I brought it in. They won't fix it, and as I didn't know to take photos of my whole car before leaving it at the body shop, I was told I can't prove it and there is nothing to be done except for me to pay hundreds to get THAT fixed. I would NEVER go to them again, and would caution others against it. The whole place is a facade of salespeople, but total disarray and disorganization once you are sold, and they do not care at all about you once they have your money. I am pretty sure at this point I am going to have to pay a lawyer to get my title from them. There are no words for how disappointed I am in how this whole experience turned out. I was so excited the day I bought what I thought was my dream car, but they are just so bad. I wish I had never stopped there to look int he...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOver the past couple of weeks we have had three bad experiences at Preston dealerships. One rude salesperson, one who agreed to show us a car that they did not have on site, and on the same day a salesperson who pushed to get us to his dealership to see a car he needed to get moved from another Preston location. We waited a 1/2 hour after our scheduled time and he still had not showed with the car. I sent a contact to what I thought was a corporate site, it wasnāt, so another salesperson contacted me. When I explained my concerns about how Preston he said he would forward concerns to his sales manager. Bottom line, at least two āsales managersā knew I was a unhappy customer, but neither even bothered to call. No contact info for management on Prestons web site. I think they are better than this, but tread carefully when dealing with one of their dealerships.UPDATE: tried 4th Preston dealership, spoke with salesperson and asked to confirm 3 cars were on his lot to see. 1 at different lot, 2 unable to locate, but he would get back to me. That was Thursday of last week. Have not heard from him. Used contact form on dealer site today to confirm availability of one of the cars. Same salesperson sent me email saying it is great time to buy car, when could I come in. Did not even recognize we spoke last week or that he never responded to me. I have determined I am on a Preston ā Do not sell...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePreston Ford of Aberdeen should be absolutely avoided if you are a veteran!!! They sold my son a car while he was having a manic episode. He is a veteran, who returned broken from serving his country in Afghanistan. These people charged him 21% interest and had him pay 21K for a 2021 Nissan Versa that Kelly's Blue Book has listed for $9K-$15K! Please explain how someone who looked and was homeless, has no job, and had no licenses is sold a car! They knew he was receiving VA benefits and able to secure USAA insurance, so they sold him a car! Their manager, Chuck Thomas, agreed to void the contract with my son and retrieve the car from the impound lot. I was informed today by Chris Marks, who said he is an owner, that Chuck no longer works for the company and that I was basically stuck with a car! Due to his disability, my son didn't even know what kind of car he had purchased or who it was even financed with. To say I am DEVASTATED is an understatement!!! Aberdeen is a military town, and to know that people such as this are preying on our veterans BREAKS MY HEART!!! Preston Ford of Aberdeen,...
