TERRIBLE MANAGER: My partner and I were sent money via western union for payment. We have never received a western union before but here we are trying to get a $2500 check from western union. We go to stop and shop, they print a check, and then we head to the bank to deposit said check. The teller at the bank, whom I assume sees many WU checks said "this was not filled out properly by the issuer, you have to go back to them to have them finish filling it out." The teller pointed out the name and address section. So we go back to stop and shop a few days later and we speak with the counter person. We remembered that the original person who filled out the check said it was only her second time doing it, that made sense that there would be errors. The clerk at SnS this time said "it looks fine to me." So now what. Well we talk with her for a while trying to figure out the problem. She called over her shift supervisor and they too said it looked fine. We suggested that the bank told us it wasn't and that these two fields needed to be filled out. They said "you fill that out." We thought, but we are not the issuers of the check, SnS is. So, a bit of confusion ensued, totally fine, we were mostly concerned that if we were going fill it out with our info then the bank wouldn't take the check then we would be out $2500. The shift manager called over the store manager (I assume) and he came out from hiding. He said the same thing to us and we said the same thing back. We offered our concern of losing the money if the check is filled out wrong and asked if they would be willing to write another check if the bank wouldn't take it, they said no. Now we are VERY nervous. This manager was much more arrogant and rude from the beginning. He surely felt that he was the BIG MAN. He told us that it was ILLEGAL for him to write put the stop and shop address on the check as the payee/issuer. We thought that this was absurd but then asked him if he would return the check if there was a problem and he said no but that "we shouldn't have a problem." My partner asked him if he would be willing to sign a statement to that affect and he looked at her with such disdain, scoffed at her, and said "PHEW NO." That is when I knew I was dealing with a person who feels he is mightier than others and can not handle pressure or customer service. This is not a person to have as the manager...
Read moreThe biggest embarrassment of my entire life. I am in this place at least 3 times per week if not more. I was not pulled aside but instead told in front of all the others customers that my receipt did not appear to be big enough for all the items that were in my cart! Really? She told me in front of every one that i didnt scan my laundry soap and continued to point out items she saw in my bags that couldnt "find" on the duplicate receipt she pulled out. It got worse, she got another employe ( i guess of higher rank) to check my cart. Since i know i pay for everything, bring them on! The second employee notice how upset i was at this point and try to be very condescending with me. When she was done she gave me money back for a coupon that was supposed to be applied towards the laundry soap that according to employee #1 i had not scan. When she is finishing with me, I asked her to give me employee's #1 name. I am sure my tone wasnt the friendliest one but I was so upset i couldnt contained myself. Another employee ( employee #3) who is taking care of another customer jumps in and asked the #2 employee " why is she talking to you like that?" In front of me. At what my very angry brain responded automatically. I am not upset at her, I am upset at your other coworker; you get put in my situation and lets see how you react! I felt attacked, i worked with customer service before and i must be a wuss because i dont remember doing this to a...
Read moreDon't pay for your purchases until you've double checked everything on the receipt unless you want to go through a time consuming and humiliating experience trying to get a price correction. I purchased a buy one get one free item ( toothbrushes) and it rang up wrong and I didn't notice until after I paid. I was sent to"customer service" which was anything but. She didn't know what to do and I had to wait until she found someone who could do something. After waiting a few minutes, the new person proclaimed I must have gotten the wrong item. She reluctantly went to look for the $9.99 toothbrushes in question and came back with something different stating this was the only one and there was nothing for 9.99. She challenged me to find the item. We went back where there were at least 20 items boho. I pointed out the sign attached to the 9.99 sign, but there were none remaining so how could I prove that's what I got. I pointed out that she had the receipt and was accusing me of lying. Then she got the manager who said to just give it to me. By now 15 minutes had passed and I felt like a slug. I was brought back to the original person who was told to give me my money back. She wouldn't until she got in touch herself with the manager. I was noticably aggravated and she told me it was all essentially my fault. My recommendation is to never pay for anything there until you have scrutinized...
