Carney's Complete Auto Service — Local services in Putnam Township

These "mechanics" are completely incompetent! I took my truck in for fuel pump repairs. When went to pick it up they informed my that they had broken the driver side mirror and told me that the fuel pump I took them was faulty because the guage wasn't working. They told me that in their incompetency, they failed to put the truck in park before lowering the hoist. My truck rolled and ran along the hoist, shattering the mirror. When I pointed out the gouges on the door, they told me to get an estimate from their body guy. I did this knowing I was not going to get an accurate quote because of the buudy relationship between these shops. But, the guy verbally quoted me $350 to repair the door. (More than the cost of repairs.) I decided I needed this in writing. I went in to the shop and the man that had just given me the quote told me Carney's just called and told him NOT to give me a quote!! I still had to go back to Carney's for the replacement mirror and to see how they were going to compensate for the door. The OWNER said all the mechanics are now denying that anything happened. As far as the fuel guage problem... The three mechanics working on my truck that day were all too stupid to know that the gas tank was EMPTY!!! They were probably just trying to get me to buy their $365 pump instead of using my own $260 pump...

Do yourself a favor and take your car/tuck somewhere else. Staff is rude, treat you as if your stupid. They actually charge 20 dollars to look at your car lol what a joke(who does that anymore). I left there and called 4 other shops none of which charge you to look at your car when they are going to do an alignment on it. Guy at the counter tried telling me Costco sells the lower grade interstate battery lol. So I contacted interstate, just now, to ask them and they said that is not the case what so ever. That just shows you the people at this shop are out to take your money. I live in pinckney and will be telling everybody I know to avoid this place. I took my car to another shop before going here and I told them that and Carneys came back and told me 8 things were wrong with it the last shop didn't tell me... hmmm. The first shop had my car.for an hour they had my car for literally 12 min and 49 seconds and found 8 things wrong. Which 5 min was spent driving my car. I did time this exactly to the second. My dad was a mechanic for 35 years.. I know all there little tricks. when I say, this company is not one of the good ones, believe me before you have a terrible...

Brought my vehicle in for a full inspection. The inspection was never done after I had it there for a year! Also, I had a leak in my sunroof that was never resolved in the proper time so now I have even worse electrical issues.. I gave them my phone number three different times and they still said they couldn’t find my contact information to give me an update. I stopped by a few times and they apologized saying they usually don’t do business like this but even after the apology months later nothing..? I don’t recommend this business! At least do an inspection if you can’t figure out how to do electrical.. on a sidenote for the year it was sitting there my 200 something dollar...
