Gem World — Local services in Quartzsite

I have been stopping to shop here at least once a year for about 9 years now . Every time I visit Gem World I get more and more discouraged from coming back. I really love their selection and they have beautiful treasures but it's almost not worth it anymore. The store is very disorganized, I am a very thrifty spender so I am very choosy about prices. Many of the beads at gem world are sold per piece in a bowl. I pick certian items because of the price posted on the bowl. Every time I go to the register to pay I am very surprised by the much higher cost than anticipated. I have to argue every time and end up not buying many of the pieces that I took a lot of time picking out. The items are so often marked wrong or in the wrong bowl or whatever. I guess the prices are not always as posted sometimes they are up to the discretion of the sales person. This is ridiculous, it shouldn't be so difficult nor frustrating. They really need a better pricing system, a more organized store and friendlier staff. I left feeling very disappointed. More so than the time before and the time...

I LOVE shopping for my crystal shop here! This is my 4th time this year shopping for crystals at Gem World. Every time I come all the employees are super helpful.

On this trip, I purchased a large crate of amethyst cathedrals and because I didn’t have a truck, I needed help loading all the pieces into my SUV. The owner was there and he was incredible with helping organize the purchase. Shamus helped us re-pack our car to make sure the cathedrals would transport safely and he was so kind and helpful - we were so grateful for his help!

The ladies at checkout, Vicky and another older lady (who’s name I didn’t catch), were also wonderful! They were patient with me taking notes on pricing so I could track for my records and helped me pack the smaller crystals I purchased.

I usually purchase between $2k-$6k of inventory each visit (rose Quartz, clear Quartz, pyrite, labradorite, amethyst… and so much more!) because there’s so much inventory to chose from!

Most of the items were well priced- and we (my family, friends, and I) spent about three hours and several hundred $$ in there. When checking out, my mom was asked if she was wholesale and she accidentally replied "no." when we realized she was checking out, we ran up to make sure the lady (Heidi) knew she was wholesale. To which Heidi replied "what!? That other lady (my mom), said 'no'. I am NOT voiding this and starting over- because she said no to wholesale".

She was maybe 10 items out of at least 50 items in to the sale, and hadn't even got to the tedious things that needed to be rung up. If it weren't for the fact that none of the rest of us had checked out and there was a sign at the register reading "we can refuse service to anyone for anything at anytime," we would have made sure she knew how we felt about her rude attitude.

The other woman who helped my sister and I, on the other hand, was amazingly kind. I believe her name was Carissa. She was courteous and took her time answering the few questions we had at...
