Belle City Resale LLC — Local services in Racine

This business should be avoided by people wanting to sell their household items. I had almost a whole household listed with them and even though they sold most of my items, they did not pay me for them in full or in a timely way. I have had to contact them numerous times in order to get even partial payment for my items. Their tracking system is faulty and at one time they paid me for items that were someone else's things and I had to contact them and make them aware of the situation. It took weeks for them to figure out how the mistakes were made and I was never sure that they corrected things completely. Tracy, the owner also told my husband and I that we did not need to sign the written agreement which states 90 days because the quality of our items was so high that she would just keep trying to sell them. In other words, our furniture made her storefront look better. She then turned around and said she had every right to not pay us because some items went past the 90 days. She also "donated" some of our items without telling us and I am still not sure that this actually happened as there was never a donation receipt presented. At this time, we are taking her and BCR to small claims court. I have tried for over 4 months to reach an amicable settlement with her but she refuses to return my calls or to meet face to face with us. I will add that I have saved every invoice from Tracy and BCR and that the numbers do not add up. Tracy assured us multiple times that she had it all figured out. I would say that the only thing she has figured out is how to take peoples items and not pay...

Very disappointed with Belle City. Initial response was very good, however, first appointment was rescheduled because the company went over on another job. There was a mishap with the rescheduled time, I had the appointment date on my calendar on the day after Belle City did. As soon as they called, I told them I would (and did) head immediately to the home, however, they left before I could get there. According to their note they waited 30 minutes. Belle City would not answer my calls after this, or respond to my messages, even though I apologized sincerely and explained that I was doing this for my sister and she is a good customer of their auctions. They also would not answer my email. My sister then called, leaving a message, and emailed and they would not respond to her. Very bad business practice or understanding. I do not recommend...

As an occasional buyer I found the place worthwhile. Some things were overpriced, but there were often fine items for a fraction of their actual worth. Then I had them do a major moving sale when we had to go into an assisted living situation, 3 friends had warned me using Traci was not a good idea. I thought I knew her and the staff. My mistake, my costly mistake. Many promises made, few kept, and abuse and threats when I complained. From some of the other reviews, I see I am not the only one who has had problems.
