DeRangos Pizza Palace — Restaurant in Racine

WOW!!! First time there and unfortunately I have to give DeRango's a 1 because the scale doesn't go lower. Just back from there tonight (10/23/16) with my elderly father and other family members and friends 10 in all. Not very busy at all. In fact as we were waiting to be seated they sent one of the waitresses home.

So we order our food & along with it I order a pitcher of soda for my son, wife & I. Later the waitress comes back to check on us and asks if we would like another pitcher of soda. I say, "Is it free refills?" She says. "YES". I then said "in that case go ahead and filler up!"

We finish eating and the bill comes. I notice that it stated "2-sodas-Pitchers $8.50." I then go to pay and ask nicely how much the pitchers are and a middle aged shorter woman with dark hair (apparently the manager-so she said later when I asked to talk to one) tells me she doesn't know and she doesn't even try to find out. Then other one says $4.25. I then proceed to let them know that I was over charged. I was told no refills on pitchers. I say, "well I specifically asked and was told free refills." That's the waitresses fault, she said. I continue "so your not going to do anything?" "NO" Then let me speak to the manager. I am the manager. I say well this is my first time here. I will always order from this DeRangos location!! This past weekend we ordered from them twice, on Friday night and Saturday night.

Friday night we had a small get together and ordered the family chicken dinner which came with more chicken then we could finish fries and Italian bread, which by the way was ready in less than a half hour for carryout. We were expecting to wait at least an hour since it was a Friday night but we’re pleasantly surprised when the gentleman who took our order told us the wait was only 20 minutes! When I went to pick up my order, the young woman at the pick up window was very accommodating when I asked to add on a bucket of fried fish to our order which was amazing. Everything was hot and fresh.

Saturday night we had another get together and placed an order through GrubHub for DeRango‘s pizza. We ended up ordering five large thin crust pizzas and we had no leftovers!! The crust was thin and crispy and they were very generous with the toppings.

I have a gluten allergy and Derangos has gluten free options which does make getting pizza much easier. Derangos has fresh ingredients and is always ready when they say they will be with their made to order pizzas. Food is fresh and satisfying each time I've gone. I love that I can call to order and that they are so quick to answer without waiting on hold, or having a hold menu. They are hassle free and have fantastic customer service. I'm happy to see that they are still more old school than most chain restaurants nearby that cause more hassle and are more time consuming than their food is worth.
