This is a review of the tour. It was interesting to see all of the architecture and visit each building. The tour guides are generally knowledgeable, although they prefer sticking to their script. Oddly you can't take pictures of the interiors, even in buildings which are no longer used.
I found parts of the tour to be annoyingly self-congratulatory, especially the lavish museum at the conclusion. There's a lot of greenwashing despite their solar panels are undersized for the buildings, and their products rarely use biodegradable packaging. They even pat themselves on the back for doing business in Apartheid...
Read moreI just got done watching AGAIN, the Glade Advertisement which shows an absolutely CLUELESS family jumping up- from the dinner table and a similerly CLUELESS MOM opening the front door with NO PRECAUTIONS WHATSOEVER!!!!! The overvoice gives the possibility that DADDY MIGHT be the one that rang the doorbell!!!! How many "Daddies" do YOU know, who rings the doorbell to gain access to their own home?????? I believe this ad to be counterproductive and DANGEROUS, in that it gives to kids the definate message that opening the front door with no precautions is perfectly OK!!! ...
Read moreThe tour of the facility has been expanded to include the Research tower, in addition to the iconic FLW designed headquarters. There is a lot of information presented, including an overly long video regarding the new display center construction. The buildings themselves are well worth making the reservation for a free tour, as they are landmarks in Modern American Architecture. There is not enough time to browse some of the exhibits, and the gift shop is only accessible...
