Stopped here after dinner on a Saturday night to have a beer at the bar and pick up some new bottles to take home. The thing about this beer shop that is different from others I've been to (Tasty, Beer Study, Bottle Revolution, etc) is that the bar area is much larger - it is the size of bar you'd see in a restaurant. That means that there is less room for racks of bottled beer for sale.
The selection of bottled beer was nicely organized and had some great option for creating a sample pack, like I was doing. They had a local section with a good amount of local breweries. The place was packed to the brim with bottles - even a little room in the back.
There weren't as many beers on tap as I had expected for a bar that size. We had the Duck Rabbit Hoppy Bunny since we hadn't tried it before. I think they had about 7 beers on tap and I wish they had had a few more. They also served wine. I might have ordered a second beer but they were $7 a piece!
The bet part of this beer shop is the lounge area - couches and tables for people to sit. At 8pm on a Saturday night we were able to get a seat easily. We will...
Read moreIncredible selection of craft and micro-brewery produced pint cans. I mean to tell you, itâs pretty impressive. I spent perhaps 45 minutes or so perusing their various IPA and Pale Ale offerings. They have many styles other than those two, of course. Being small breweries, the cans seem a bit pricey. But then again, $4.00 for an IPA pint can is still less than youâd pay for a pint at most restaurants/bars. They also have several beers (perhaps 8 or so) on tap, which you can buy and then drink as you shop. The gentleman who is the front end manager (or something of the sort) was friendly and very knowledgeable about all the beers. Between the vast selection of beers and the customer service provided by said gentleman, I like this place quite a bit. Attached is a picture of some of the pints I bought there that I still have....
Read moreChocolate Wine and Cheese Festival this past weekend and many attendants wondered through the Crafty Beer Shop with their wine glasses. Very rude owner ! Came up to our group and asked us to leave because âwe donât have a wine license.â
All other Lafayette shop owners welcomed us. Next year... I suggest the Crafty Beer Shop owners place a sign in their window to let attendants know they are not welcome.
Itâs all about the approach... our group would have perceived things differently if the owner said... â may I get you a beer since we donât serve wine?â Of course that didnât happen and everyone we saw in their beer shop had a glass of wine... I donât recommend this place...
