Raleigh Meditation Center
The first part of any new study for me has been to try to learn what I am to do, the purpose for that and the goal in mind. Some forty plus years ago I read much of an Indian master’s work. I eventually gave up on attempting to discover my essence. The reason for this was that the Master gave no method of how to do this. However, what the Master had written that could be realized I discovered in a book in the quite long title by another Master, Stop Living In This Land Go To the Everlasting World of Happiness and Live There Forever by Woo Myung. Through this book I realized immediately that if I wanted to solve my issue it was that I had to delve into myself through meditation with a guide. As I had tried it alone with limited success I soon realized that I needed help. It was at Raleigh Meditation that all of this came together. Life can be no cakewalk and perhaps that is why you are considering meditation—to find your essence or to resolve problems that have not been resolved with other disciplines. As one notable philosopher, Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” So…if you are willing to confront yourself, ignore the naysayers for they are everywhere and realize the responsibility for your condition lies within you this meditation can...
Read moreI have been searching for a way to improve my life for many, many years. I tried various ways such as attending a variety of church services, learning yoga and going to eastern philosophy retreats. As the years passed, I did not have any success with those methods. I was looking after my family, and going to work each day, but I was still feeling rather unexcited about my life. By all accounts, I appeared to have a nice life, I lived in a nice house, my children were doing well in school, and I held a responsible position at work. However, I really wasn't very happy. One day, a friend invited me to the Raleigh Meditation seminar. Upon listening to the information about this unique way of meditating, which was different than anything I tried in the past, I was excited to begin practicing ''subtraction'' meditation. After nearly 3 years of doing this meditation, my mood has lifted, I have much less stress, I'm actually happy at work and at home, and I'm sleeping well. If you are like me, and are looking for clarity, happiness, inner peace and greater success in your life, I highly recommend this method for you. I found the essential element that was missing, and...
Read moreAs a physician I often counsel patients who have stress as a factor in their ill health. I tell them that mediation is an important tool in calming a stressed and overactive nervous system. I have tried many times and many different methods over the years to follow my own advice but with limited success. Just sitting thinking about nothing didn't work for me. Focusing on a mantra was not much better. It wasn't until I discovered the subtraction method taught at Raleigh Meditation Center that I had success in making real changes to my peace of mind with regular practice. I enjoy the people and I find the format affordable and user-friendly. The Raleigh meditation center has been a wonderful and safe place to learn how to calm my mind and ease the stress of a busy life. I recommend...
