February 17th from the same store I purchased a whole crab two days later when I opened it to cook it it had a foul ammonia smell It was horrible I opened it up It had some black spots and what look like mold I called the health department filed the complaint against the store thinking something would change
March 5th I walked in and purchased 8 lb of beef liver took it home opened it up realized that it is expired awful horrible smell grayish color I'll be fell in another complaint with the health department
This raley's store does not disclose the proper expiration date they label their own expiration date and I believe they would repackage things and put a new expiration date just to sell it I went to Walmart and purchased beef liver that had expiration date directly from the supplier I walked in show the manager both examples one from Walmart and one from raley's and showed how the one from raley's had a bad foul smell and it was a light grayish color and compared it to The one from Walmart that had a darker color and show the expiration date and asked for the expiration date on the box that I was served from on purchasing liver from them as usual they didn't care they just said will give you a refund and that's it not looking for a refund ... They should be tossing out all their old expire food taking it off the shelves
Just had the worst and rudest experience with a manager whatever young lady that was working on this day 9/16/23 I called at 8:08pm
First of all I've been shopping at this raley's for well over 3 years was wonderful experience no issue
I called in because I purchased $17 Brie president cheese I got home open the packaging and realized it's all browning I cut it open and the horrific smell of ammonia just smacks you in the face check the expiration date and it says it expired 9/06/22 the ammonia smell was unbearable put it in the back and threw it away I called and spoke with the manager to let her know the issue
Attitude was unbearable she was very very rude This type of rudeness is unacceptable I've been a loyal customer never had any issues love shopping at raley's but this type of customer service from this woman again horrible very rude I even asked her name she refused all she just give me an attitude and hung up on me
She demanded that I get the cheese put in the car and bring it over I have photos I could have sent photos there's no way of faking moldy trees I didn't ask for a money back I just wanted to replace it and I told her that horrific ammonia smell is unbearable to put in my car and drive over there she refused to help out in any way give me an attitude hung up on me

Read moreMoldy Produce! I have mentioned it to someone from the produce section last week, but I guess that department does not care about the quality of produce being sold to customers. For the past few months I have noticed a drastic decline in the quality of Raley's produce and specifically their berries. The person who I spoke eith from produce said that they are constantly getting new stock in and that it just sits in the back and that could be the reason why we are seeing so much rotten fruit being sold to the public. Granted I tested out purchasing 3 types of berries on multiple occasions in the last 6 months and the last 3-4 months have shown a drastic drop in quality. I will bring strawberries home that will rot within 1-2 days before washing (because that does make a difference) as an example. Almost all of the berries found within the produce section have at least 1+ rotten pieces. And having to hunt and peck to find berries that are not over ripe or rotten is extremely difficult. (If they are being stored together, the mold will transfer.) This is not condusive for keeping a sanitized and clean store when all of your customers have to touch each berry package to find one that is not rotten. I decided it was the last straw when I found mold on the raspberries on the fruit tart I purchased from their bakery. Read moreDisappointed with meat section people. Meat section closed at 8pm and I was there at 7pm asked the person to cut the meat. He said he cleaned everything up and can’t cut meat and asked me to come in the morning. When I went at 10am in the morning, meat guy in lunch break and there is nobody to cut it. Very poor service from Raley’s.
2nd Review: 12/30/2025: For the same reason though!! Meat section!! it’s getting worse day by day!! I went at 4:45 pm for whole chicken and asked the meat guy to cut the chicken small pieces, he sounded so rude I thought may be he had a busy day, I clearly told him to cut small pieces and remove the skin, but he removed skin for only few pieces and made large cut pieces and few pieces are not even separated! He intentionally didn’t cut properly to show his frustration I guess!! MEAT SERVICE CAN’T GO LOWER THAN THIS!!
