As I entered the newly opened restaurant that replaced the former sushi spot, I immediately noticed how much the atmosphere had evolved while still maintaining some familiar touches. The vibe was inviting and upbeat, with two TVs broadcasting college football games, creating a laid-back environment that was perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends.
One major change from the previous establishment was the ordering process. Instead of ordering at the front bar as before, diners now order directly from their tables, whether they're eating in or taking their food to go. This shift not only streamlines the dining experience but also fosters a more relaxed and communal atmosphere, making it easy to focus on the food and company.
The restaurant's layout was thoughtfully designed, with a uniform arrangement of tables and chairs that gave the space a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing feel. The setup offered both comfort and charm, inviting diners to linger and enjoy their meals at their own pace.
Now, let's talk about the service. On a chill Saturday afternoon around 2:30 PM, my expectations for attentive service were surpassed. The server, who also acted as the receptionist, was everywhere at once, deftly managing to ensure every table received the attention they deserved. This kind of dedication stood out, fostering a sense of hospitality that felt genuine rather than scripted. The convenience of being able to pay at either the table or at the front register added a layer of comfort to an already accommodating service system.
For my meal, I ordered the salmon sashimi bento box, which came with a piping-hot bowl of miso soup. The sashimi's presentation was unique--the salmon was served in long cubes rather than the traditional slices, offering a creative twist. While I appreciated the innovation, I found it slightly tricky to handle with the oval-shaped chopsticks provided. This, of course, is more a reflection of my own chopstick skills than anything else, and perhaps a round pair would suit my needs better. The tempura vegetables were another highlight--crispy and flavorful--though I think the dish would be improved with more vegetables but in smaller, bite-sized pieces.
In addition to the bento box, I tried the Hatchi Roll, which featured shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, salmon, broiled eel, unagi sauce, creamy sauces, green onions, and masago. The roll was an excellent blend of flavors and textures, and each element was perfectly balanced.
The ambiance of the restaurant went beyond just decor. Toward the front, two fridges stocked with bottled water and sodas added to the convenience for diners. However, I noticed there were no adult beverages available. I suspect this might be something the owners plan to add in the future, but I did miss the option of having a local craft beer alongside my meal.
Overall, my experience at this newly opened Sushi bar exceeded expectations. The restaurant offers a mix of comfort, attentive service, and quality food in a welcoming environment. I left feeling excited about what this new dining experience will continue to offer and eager to return.
One quick note for the owners: I encountered an issue accessing your website due to a site certificate error. I hope this gets...
Read moreKeep I. Mind my review is based on two visits. One in restaurant and one to go. Both visits were okay.
We visited back to back days - first day for sushi and apps then second day for ramen and garlic fried rice.
The first day we noticed the menu was a little extravagantâŠ. LARGE. I thought it was better than few options but a tad overwhelming. We noticed the prices were pretty high. We ordered the Deadpool (under $20) and the Redeemer at $26! The Deadpool was amazing. The redeemer was more than disappointingâŠ.. we ate it because we spent $26 but the tuna on top was over cooked and not consistent and the seaweed was so chewy. The roll itself lacked something. No flavor.
The Deadpool - would order this again, definitely.
We ordered BBQ tuna as an appetizer and the tuna was overcooked and cooking was inconsistent between pieces.
The jalapeno appetizer was okay. Just okay. Packed flavor. Decent but not sure I would order again.
The second day (today) we got ramen, garlic fried rice and edamame.
I ordered ramen with miso broth and my husband ordered pork broth with garlic added.
They labeled the broth packaging miso but it was the pork broth. Figured ehh letâs try it. Upon opening the container with the noodles, I noticed all it contained were ramen noodles, three slices of pork and an egg. There were no green onions, cabbage or bamboo shoots. I wouldnât order this again. Disappointed to say the least. The soup was $16 and I expected it to contain what was in the item description.
The garlic rice was okay. Flavor lackedâŠâŠ plain.
Edamame was okay. Would have been happier purchasing the Costco pack and preparing myself. Itâs edamame so not high expectations. Tasted fine. No salt and some pieces were brown.
We will likely give this place another shot. We loved the atmosphere. They did a good job giving this place a facelift after the...
Read moreWabune, you broke my heart. I loved you from the first day as your fish is so fresh and your portions generous. So when you got so busy on a Friday night I started calling at 5:00 to put in my order for pick up at 6:00. But after a long day at work, my husband showed up at 6:00 and the order just went in and he had to sit and wait 45 minutes. He wonât go pick up food for me at your yummy close to home place anymore. The wait is too long at the end of a long week and even longer day. So tonight I was told I should use Doordash if I wanted my Friday night meal from you. Doordash arrived in time, YAY. But why did my $8.95 edamame come plain which is the description for the $6 edamame? Who would pay nearly $10 for a small container of plain edamame? It's the special spicy garlic sauce I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to. And when I called Eric to discuss it with him, he blamed Doordash. Like if it wasn't for Doordash I wouldn't even have ordered from here on a Friday night. I wish I could share a photo. Thereâs no way this is Doordashâs fault that my edamame is plain. For $40 you need to DO BETTER. A bento box and edamame for $40. Sad customer đ
EDITED Just want to come back and edit my review. Chef Mike called me, twice, to apologize, accept accountable and say that my next order would come with spicy garlic edamame on him. He offered other items too but I declined. My review wasnât to get free food but to discuss the bad customer service from one person. One person does not make an entire establishment. The owner was seriously apologetic and the acknowledgment meant everything as a customer. Iâll be back, because he has earned my loyalty and business. Thank you owner Chef Mike for your integrity and loyalty to your...
