Pívat Cigar Lounge — Local services in Rancho Mirage

I picked up cigar smoking a couple of years back. It is to me a great way to relax and unwind. That said, there are many places where one can enjoy a nice cigar. But usually a nice cigar lounge is usually where the atmosphere is such that the whole experience can be enhanced to a much higher level. And in the short time that I've been a cigar smoker, I've visited my share of cigar lounges. But I must say, PIVAT CIGAR LOUNGE at AGUA CALIENTE CASINO in Palm Desert California, really is an amazing experience. From the moment you walk in the place just feels right. Dark wood paneling through the entire place. Plenty of comfortable seating, and tables to set down your drinks and or food. TV's to view sporting events. Outdoor seating for those who enjoy the outdoors more than the indoors. Even large heaters outside in case it's a bit chilly. They even had a guitarist playing Spanish guitar after 5pm. The hosts and hostesses are very welcoming, attentive, and professional. Paulina served us throughout our visit and she was phenomenal. Going above and beyond the call of duty. Also, being that the lounge is inside a casino, there are a few slot machines inside the place in case one wants to try out one's luck. This is a cigar bar in a casino called Agua Caliente. Every aspect of the resort is top notch except for the cigar bar. We had an awful experience. I waited about 5 minutes to go into the humidor. A server brings you in and once you pick your cigar, the server asks how I'd like it cut. I say a straight cut. She asked if we wanted a cocktail. My wife asked for a cocktail menu and she left She didn't come back for 20 minutes. She was unapologetic. The cigar was still uncut because she had forgotten how I wanted it cut. She was rude so we left. While we were waiting, I asked the bartender for help. She said she couldn't help me because she was the only bartender. I looked around and I was the only customer at the bar. The staff at the resort were all amazing, except for the cigar bar. I recommend skipping this. I normally enjoy coming to this lounge, but my recent experience has changed my opinion. I will start off by saying that this lounge is beautiful and everything you picture a cigar lounge to be. The staff attending to you are normally women and they are awesome. I recently went to the cigar lounge with my wife and was immediately surprised by two things. There was live music which was a first for me at the longe. The music was great and relaxing to hear. The second thing that stood out was the staff were all men. The lounge was not busy and we quickly found our seats. No one offered us any drinks for 45 minutes. My wife and I had to walk to the bar to order our drinks. I couldn’t help to notice that the only people being attended to by the staff were white older men. I speak for myself and not my wife when I say it left me feeling out of place and unwanted.
