I actually truly enjoy seeing shows at The Show - it is super easy getting in and out of the facility. The security and ushers are always very pleasant and every seat in the place is a good one. Normally, I would give The Show 5 stars every time.
My family recently purchased tickets to Wayne Newton. We were ecstatic that we secured tickets right down front and were looking forward to surprising our 80 year old mom for Mother's Day with the tickets.
We were planning to purchase a Cameo from Wayne Newton explaining that he himself was looking forward to seeing my mom at his show - right down front!
A week after we purchased the tickets, I received an email saying there was an error in the ticketing system and that a refund had been issued and that I was welcome to purchase any of the remaining seats.
I called the box office before doing so. The staff was not aware of why I had been issued a refund and I was placed on hold so a manager could be looped in to the conversation.
I was then told that ALL of the floor seats were being held for players club members and that any floor seats that were sold were refunded.
The manager offered to find me "better seats" than what was shown available for retail. How do you offer someone "better seats" when their original purchase was front row and center?
I can appreciate that someone at Agua Caliente made a mistake, but to be fair, fewer than a dozen floor seats had been sold for that show when we purchased ours.
The casino / The Show should have honored the few floor seats that had been already sold.
Also, a phone call would have been much better received, at the very least. What if I had missed that email and showed up for the show thinking we were taking my mom to sit in the front row?
This is poor customer service. I get that high rollers and people who feed the casino get priority - but as a business owner myself - this was a lost opportunity to do the right thing.
Nothing else was offered - a room, a free meal, even free tickets - sorry Agua Caliente, but you can afford to eat your mistake. I pointed out that I was not even given an apology.
I offered to call back after I could speak to the rest of my party and diffuse my disappointment.
When I called back to purchase new seats, I spoke to an agent who was empathetic. I asked if they could at least wave our service fees for all the trouble. After a brief hold, I was told that they would comp us 2 of the 4 tickets, which was a very nice gesture - and they did give us seats that were not available for retail.
But this was not offered until I asked.
I rarely if ever write a poor review for a business, as I always give them a chance to right a wrong. The Show manager told me there was nothing more she could do for me, when in fact there was (I'm sure she approved the comp'd tickets after I asked).
I would appreciate a response from someone at Agua Caliente reaching out to me, especially since The Show manager gave less than satisfactory customer service - cutting me off, not offering an apology on behalf of the error until I mentioned I wasn't offered one - and only offering to help repurchase tickets when she clearly had more power to do more than she stated.
My mom lives 15 minutes away and we go to The Show because it's convenient and easy for her to get in and out - maybe front row tickets to another show - anything that shows a lack of service and empathy for the situation.
For the two agents I spoke to other than the manager, thank you for your customer service skills, I hope you are recognized for...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is such a fabulous venue for concerts. The showroom is large yet intimate. Every seat is a good seat in it's own right. The soundsystem and acoustics are terrific. The ushers are helpful and friendly. There's a strong presence of Security Officers which is comforting as well as intimidating (in an odd way like border patrol). It's all good, though! 'Will Call' and ticket purchase lines run smoothly and efficiently. Special attention and courtesy is extended to persons with disabilities. Inside there's convenient bars to purchase beverages as well as handy restrooms. Adjacent to The Show is an entrance from the parking lot so one doesn't have to trapse through the casino if they prefer not to. The 360 Sports bar is directly next to the showroom. There you can knosh on quick bites before a concert. In addition, a fun circular bar elevated off the floor, has a DJ keeping it lively. Agua Caliente is a class act and truly worthy of being voted the "best"...

A big drawback, which is typical of casinos, is the walk all the way through the venue through the cigarette smell - it's a nuisance when you have asthma. I get it: they want you to walk past all of the machines and tables and restaurants on your way to the venue. We were seated in the balcony front row right of center stage and had an excellent view. Most seats looked like they had a good view of the stage along with screens on each side of the stage. The bartender was friendly. There were two elevators to get upstairs. The free valet helped though it was understandably busy due to the event and we waited for approximately 20-25 minutes for our car. We thought about staying at the hotel since it was a little over an hour drive home but the hotel was pretty expensive. It's an option we'll keep in mind for future shows we'd...
