Took a couple of trial classes here and they were okay...I liked the studio layout and dim lighting. However, what happened next completely stopped me from ever wanting to return. I started to receive dozens upon dozens of phone calls, voicemails and text messages from various people (Jade and Katie were some of the names). The calls were not from a corporate phone number, they always came from the Redondo Beach Pure Barre number and would sometimes happen multiple times a day! Pure Barre is known for their aggressive sales tactics and had I known this, I would have never even taken a trial class.
They were messages trying to pressure me into a purchasing a Pure Barre membership and to "answer any questions that I had." Funny, I never had any questions, nor did I respond to their messages...not one single time. Yet the texts, calls and voicemails continued for weeks until I finally had to block them. Wouldn't you think if you contact someone that much and they don't respond, they aren't interested?
It absolutely made me feel like a dollar sign rather than a human being. It was evident that all that Pure Barre wanted was my money and that pushed me in the complete opposite direction of wanting to join. If I were the studio owner, I would be embarrassed to be contacting people that much. I honestly felt harassed. I've since joined a locally owned fitness studio where I feel like a person, not a credit card and am very happy...

I recently joined Pure Barre and have attended about 20 classes so far. It’s a great workout. I became much stronger and have now a lot more energy for my daily activities. My favorite classes are “Empower”, “Classic” and “Align”. The staff are amazing. The fitness instructors (in the order I first met them): Tara, KellyAnne, Jesenia, Jerzie, Emerald, Jasmin, and the managers: Kayleigh, Ali, Michelle, Janelle, Katharine - are professional and fun people. Everything in the studio is very well organized. The owner Wendy is great. It’s easy to schedule classes, monitor your activity, set goals, join challenges, etc. through either Pure Barre mobile app or web app. I enjoy Pure Barre classes, and am looking forward to continue having them as part of my lifestyle in...
Read moreI showed up to class three minutes after start time after driving in Friday traffic and was not let in. I am all about safety, however in no other studio all over the world have I ever been turned away for showing up to a class LESS than five minutes late. I do barre and attend studio classes 4-5 times a week. This is truly a first and very disappointing after planning a day around it and driving 20+ minutes.
I can easily say I will not be attending a studio this unaccommodating to regular life, as that’s how life typically works. Things come up and you can sometimes show up three minutes late.
They offered to rebook me but I do not live in the area.
Again. Very...
