I occasionally stop at the Giant Food on 2551 John Milton Drive. It’s a pretty nice store, it’s got everything you need. However, sometimes the associates are not very nice. I visited September 14th around 2:45 -3 PM. The older employee working near the floral department was being unnecessary, rude and not very nice. I met a nice customer and her 4 little girls near the floral department, the customer and I started talking about the store, the items we were shopping for, etc. Soon the conversation turned to her 4 little girls and their cute “Shopper in training” buggy. I said hi to the little girls and offered them a high five and I asked them for hugs. Before they gave me the hugs, I saw an older employee (woman, probably 50 or 60) look in their direction and she was shaking her head and she was mouthing the words “No” and mouthing “Don’t hug him” to the girls! I even heard her loudly whisper “That’s creepy”! The girls still gave me hugs, one even kissed me on the cheek (yay, sweet) but I didn’t appreciate the way the older employee did that, as if I was a odd person or I was trying to harm someone. I spoke to the manager afterwards, the manager seemed distracted but said they will have a chat with this older employee. I hope that people realize there are still good folks out there who do not have...
Read moreI'm new to the area as of 8 months ago, and I have not shopped at Giant Foods for a long time due to what I perceived to be higher prices. I stuck to Wegmans and Trader Joe's for better selection, produce quality, and friendlier staff than my old nearby Giant. That said, I'm very pleased with my experience so far at the John Milton Dr Giant. The staff, especially the stockers and butcher, are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The produce is always good, although the organic selection is small and separated from the regular produce. I agree with another commenter that the bakery seems to be absudly loaded with junk options; I rarely visit it. I have also had no luck finding non-milk options for coffee creamer (like coconut or almond milk creamer). I find that a combination of using my bonus card and coupons from a variety of sources keeps the price well below Wegmans, but there are still a few overpriced items (I'm looking at you, Sara Lee whole wheat bread at $3.49 a loaf) that I know I could get cheaper at Target or better quality for a similar price at Wegmans. The checkers are friendly and customer service is courteous; sometimes an additional checkout lane being open would really make a world of difference in the...
Read moreI wanted to take a moment to spotlight Denise, an exceptional employee at my local Giant grocery store. Denise truly embodies the spirit of hard work and dedication. Every time I visit, I see her bustling around the store, always busy but never too busy to help a customer in need. It's incredible how she manages to handle so many tasks, often making it seem like she’s doing the work of several people!
Denise’s friendly demeanor is a breath of fresh air. She always greets customers with a warm smile and a genuine willingness to assist, creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps shoppers coming back. It’s clear that she cares about her job and the people she serves, which is something truly special.
Beyond her work ethic, Denise is just an all-around nice person. Her down-to-earth nature makes interactions feel personal and meaningful, which is a rarity in today’s fast-paced world. It’s employees like Denise that elevate the shopping experience and make our local Giant a fantastic place to shop.
Thank you, Denise, for all that you do! Your hard work and positive attitude have not gone unnoticed, and I hope management recognizes the incredible asset you are...
