While searching for a nearby sushi restaurant, we discovered a recently opened Japanese spot at Fox Mill Shopping Center in Herndon that immediately caught our attention. This new establishment has taken over from Mari Sushi, and the transformation is impressive. The interior boasts a fresh ambiance, with vibrant decor featuring Japanese figures on the shelves, a bright and spacious layout, and plenty of seating options.
We decided to try the Love Boat, which was enough for two people to share. It includes the chef's choice of 8 pieces of sushi and 12 pieces of sashimi, the kabuki special roll, and the rainbow roll. The sushi and sashimi were exceptionally fresh, with thick slices of fish, including tuna and salmon. The kabuki roll was a standout, featuring cream cheese that added a rich, creamy texture, while the rainbow roll dazzled with its vibrant sashimi and avocado topping. Each bite melted in our mouths!
The service was top-notch—our server was attentive and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. We loved everything about this restaurant and can't...
Read moreSushi Kabuki is a hidden gem—one of the best sushi spots in Northern Virginia. Came here for dinner last week and had a wonderful experience.
The service was stellar. Every staff member was kind and attentive, and one woman even gave my son the "chopstick helper" (completely unsolicited by us) because she saw he was struggling to use his chopsticks.
Our food was outstanding. We order fairly "basic" sushi options, but the shrimp tempura roll and avocado roll were delicious. They were plated beautifully, too, with limes, radishes, and sliced green apples on the side of the dish. But the real surprise was the beef teriyaki—truly the best we've had. Sliced beef and an array of fresh vegetables in teriyaki sauce arrive to your table on a sizzling plate, along with steamed rice, miso soup, and mixed green salad. My son and I split this dish and were raving about how good it was.
We can't wait to go back to Sushi Kabuki. The only downside is that the restaurant is small, so if you're coming with a larger party during peak dinner hours, you should call for a...
Read moreWe ordered take out and it was GREAT! This place has been owned several times over. We have tried it several times it’s always been mediocre. Tonight we decided to try it again since it just opened a week ago and we live in the neighborhood. we got the yummy chicken, chicken Katsu and vegetable fried rice. The yummy chicken was absolutely AMAZING! It was so crispy. So flavorful. My husband and i were fighting over it. If you like any type of Chinese food, like sesame chicken or general Tso (without the spice) you will love this. The chicken katsu was also very good, i personally didn’t try it but my husband did and he loved it. The veg fried rice had a lot of veggies in it, it was good but I personally felt like there was a fish flavor to it, almost like there was a fish oil used to cook it. totally fine but wasn’t my favorite fried rice I’ve had and especially in comparison to the main entrees. Overall really good takeout and would...
