Charm School Study Hall — Local services in Richmond

I have wanted to like this place, but they just keep being disappointing The ice cream is tasty, but overpriced and the servings are to small for what you pay. When they opened their doors there was a starry eyed promise of a smattering of soft serve flavors to choose from, but generally you just have the standard chocolate, vanilla or twist options. For a store that only makes soft serve it doesn’t feel like a few more flavor options is to much to ask for.

Their snooty remarks and “I’m better than you” attitude rings from the internet into your real life experience when you step up to the window.

At times it’s hard to know if I’m buying ice cream or promoting a political viewpoint and desired societal mentality

We stopped by to check out Charm School’s new Study Hall location currently soft opening at the new Hill Standard location. Presently the location is only serving soft serve in vanilla, chocolate and swirl.

The chocolate was rich and satisfying without going overboard. Topped with a simple fresh cake cone and chocolate jimmies it hit the perfect spot.

The vanilla topped with birthday cake crunch was perfect - not cloyingly sweet with vanilla notes throughout.

Delightful! Check Instagram for most up to date hours and flavors. They are limited, but oh so good! Focus is on soft serve unlike the Broad Street location. We tried both the vegan and dairy options. The dairy blood orange was incredibly creamy and the vegan chocolate was super silky. I got the chocolate dip as a topping for the vegan chocolate. We walked around the neighboring playground/small park nearby while we savored these treats. Like a lot of good establishments in Richmond, there was a line, but it was worth it.
