I recently experienced Rebeca's color class. The very carefully organized and presented information was skillfully delivered to us at a time for me in my painting experience when it was really needed. Rebeca's teaching approach is equally skillful. She is tuned into each student and seeks to help them find their way towards a personal art statement. I love her breath of art history knowledge and how she brings it into each lesson. And most especially the use of homework to help carry over a regular practice of painting into my own life. Rebeca is an artiste par excellence! I've known Rebeca a few years in the context of our shared educational and literacy worlds. We had purchased a smaller landscape painting over a year ago and it graces our wall. In preparation for a recent trip to the Bay Area, Rebeca invited us to a Gallery Showing, that we could not attend...instead we got something better! She invited us to her painting studio, and there we fell in love with 2 large landscapes. I have been "majoring" in Rebeca. Starting with a drawing class, I moved on to instruction in mixing color, then in using acrylic paints for beginners. Next I took two of her marvelous plein air painting classes. For every class, Rebeca supplied lots of helpful resources. Her instruction was always clear and supportive, and the other students were fun to be around. And she is unfailingly well organized!
