I prefer to shop local, small town stores compared to Walmart or Kroger. I stopped in this IGA tonight to check out their meat selection. When I entered the store, the cashier looked at me and didn’t say anything, which wasn’t a big deal as she was scanning someone’s groceries. I did my shopping and came up the register. There was nothing said during the entire checkout process. Not a “how are you?” Or “Did you find everything ok?” Not a single word spoken. She didn’t even tell me my total. She just stared at me. I recognize that we are in the middle of some pretty bad inflation, but man, I was a bit shocked by some of the prices. Meat and produce looked good and shelves were fully stocked.
