Exemplary breakfast with an eclectic and homey feel. The food is farm to table so you know it's fresh. We both opted for the spinach, mushroom, cheese and bacon omelettes with rye toast. They were happy to substitute out the mushrooms or bacon for us, and we were even offered options for homemade Amish butters and jellies for our toast. I opted for the "bear" jelly which I believe was a mix of blueberries, blackberries, and cherries and she got the cherry butter (oh my goodness it was fantastic).

We also tried a side of their goetta (had to look it up!) which apparently is the home recipe of their butcher's grandmother. It was delicious and crunchy and almost reminded me of the blood/white breakfast pudding I have had overseas which I quite like. The omelette was stuffed with the promised fillings and cooked to perfection, and the toast was nothing short of scrumptious with the preserves on top. Along with their attentive and friendly staff, it was definitely our food highlight...

Jackie was a fantastic person, kind, thoughtful, good sense of humor and was very timely with the service and our many questions being tourists. Kathy had waited on us years prior and was great too! Food and atmosphere was amazing.

We returned the next day and things weren’t so friendly …no smiles, no friendly talk, and we felt very, very unwelcome. It was a Monday morning, so not as busy. No one checked on us once the food was served, no one cleared our dishes, and we waited at least fifteen minutes for our bill after we had finished eating. My husband had to ask for the bill a second time.

Upset my 87 year old dear mother and it was a bad start to the beautiful day. Remember please the golden rule even if you are tired, crabby, rushed or only know the locals … small actions of kindness and respect go...

My wife and I came in for breakfast on a Sunday mor ing and were created quickly and in a very friendly manner. The waitress was very personable and attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions.

I ordered their spinach, mushroom , bacon and cheese omelette let with rye toast and a side of sausage. The omelette was fantastic and the sausage was phenomenal. It was really cooked very well and the flavor was great. My wife ordered scrambled eggs and bacon and she is very particular a out how they are cooked and the Main Street Diner nailed it perfectly. We are going to be in this area for the next 3 months and we will...

This was a quaint, locally owned diner that we found while visiting Rising Sun, maybe holds 30+ people. The place was clean. Service was good. They have a variety of jelly choices and I'd never heard of some of them. The spinach omelette was very good and it was steamy with every bite. I've never had an entirely hot omelette, not even at home. We were impressed. Employees were very charming. We will return. Now, I need to send a thank you note to add to their wall.

There isn't really thing I can add that other reviewers haven't already said. A great farm to table restaurant that is charming and fun. We had breakfast here. Both of us had omelettes, they were perfect. I never eat my toast but they had it fixed perfectly. Stop in and enjoy what a diner used to be.
