Where do I begin? I've been to thus store countless times the past 2 years, spending thousands of dollars, since purchasing my house and visit best buy for all our appliances and electronic needs. Every single time I visit this store I have an issue. Nobody greets or asks to assist us. I was six months pregnant and waiting over an hour to get someone to just even come over and take a roomba off the shelf for me to purchase (after asking 2 different associates who said they would "be right over". Another instance I switched phones for 6 lines of family members and it took over 4 hours for them to switch everything over and ring us up. Recently we purchased a laptop and had a promotion and it took over an hour for the associates to figure out how to ring it up and had to rering it 3 different times to honor the promo. My husband and I went in before the holidays to upgrade our phones and the store was generally empty however there was a customer already sitting getting their phone so the associate finally acknowledged us after 10 minutes of standing there and said he wouldn't be able to help us that evening because he was already helping someone and they closed in 35 minutes. Yes, our business was turned away! After all this, spending over 10k the past 18 months just to remind you we STILL return to do business at this store and went right before xmas to get a $2,000 OLED tv. We went in and shipped around by ourselves and there were no associates even near that are . We were finally greeted 20 minutes later and we just pointed to which tv we wanted. Lastly yesterday my husband went to buy a sound bar and it was priced incorrectly and, in short, the store refused to price adjust it even though there were 3 other of the same items marked that way as well. Needless to say he was very frustrated and finally had enough of the ridiculously poor customer service and lack of regard for the consumer experience.
I have been in retail for 20+ years and would be embarrassed if any of my staff treated customers, especially ones with the elite status, with such neglect and carelessness . I will NEVER shop with best buy again as I can easily get my purchases on amazon and never be hassled again. Sad to say that best buy will lose a great customer, and I imagine many more as I have to assume there are a lot of other dissatisfied customers out there. I gave them many chances as I understand that incidents do happen from time to time, but it seems they cannot deliver the experience or service I would expect time...
Read moreTRIED to buy a TV online and pickup at the store. The process was a complete failure. The store owner (who was supposedly on the phone with the associate "helping" me) made NO serious attempt at customer service.
I left the store after wasting 1-1/2 hours trying to get the tv I purchased. Never got it. The television that I purchased for pickup was given to another customer. When I arrived at the store, there were no more in stock of that model. The store admitted that it was their mistake.
When they finally figured out what their mistake was, the store associate kept checking on the inventory while I waited...and waited. Eventually I was given three options: drive to another store to pick up the tv there; get the tv delivered to my house a week later; or buy a different tv.
None of those options took care of my needs! I had already waited over an hour, and I did not have the time or inclination to drive to another store further away. I bought the tv and was told it was ready for pickup that day...why should I wait another week or longer to get delivery?
And when I accepted their option to try buy a different model tv, I was told that I would have to pay FULL price instead of getting the sale prices from when I purchased the tv the day before. The owner would not allow me to just pay the price difference for the more expensive model they had in stock. Instead they refunded me the sales price and then tried to charge me the full price. And the best "discount" he could offer me to make up for store's error (which they admitted was their fault) and make up for my hour-and-a-half of wasted time was...wait for it...3.9% off (just $15)!!! Really?
I got my money back, but I can't get my day back. I left the store feeling frustrated, lost my time, and still don't have a TV. I'm not satisfied that Best Buy tried to make things right. When I have time to shop again, I will go out of my way to find a store that is not owned by the same...
Read moreAfter having a terrible experience with a purchase at Best Buy Riverdale over a year ago--vowing as a result not to transact business again with Best Buy--I decided to let my guard down and purchase a Fitbit Sense Smartwatch on December 17, 2022 as part of a 48 hour sale. The Fitbit watch was supposed to arrive on December 19 and when it didn't (with no notification from Best Buy), I called the 800 customer service number. While the voice prompt said the wait time would be less than 3 minutes, I waited over 30 minutes for an operator to answer. The customer service representative apologized for the inconvenience, spoke with his superiors, and then gave me a confirmation number saying it would come the next day. The next day arrived (today), only to get an email saying that the Fitbit watch "will be arriving by January 2, 2023", or long after the holidays. I called the Best Buy 800 number and again received a message that the wait time would be less than 3 minutes, which again was closer to 30 minutes. The customer service representative who I finally reached said there was nothing she could do, despite the fact that the item is available at the Riverdale store, because it was "already in the system. I then told her that I would either pick up the item at the Riverdale store, or I wished to cancel the order and receive a credit, as I already have a charge on my credit card. Again she told me that there still was nothing else she could do at this time. While I blame myself for making the mistake to again trying to do business with Best Buy, hopefully it is helpful to others--especially during this holiday season--to not make any online purchases from Best Buy. Indeed their technology is antiquated, their people are not well trained, and they show through their actions that they care little about doing right by...
