Stopped by here for the first time today after visiting one of the other shops next door. It's a basic but clean shop that's nice and open, apparently due to a recent expansion. There are a few merchandise racks when you walk in, but it's largely open space besides that with some tables for game nights.
They had some basic TCG accessories and merchandise like card sleeves, deck boxes, etc., plus some DnD stuff like die sets and miniatures from well-known brands. They also carried a few of the better-known board games.
As their business page says, they primarily sell Pokemon and MTG cards, whether in packs or singles. I was looking for YGO since they just had a new booster pack release, but obviously the market isn't big enough for them to offer that, which I'm not upset about.
I still picked up a playmat tube and some card sleeves, and they were priced like as low as any other competitor or online marketplace. The location is perfect for a shop like this, and I hope it continues to grow in the community. I'll probably keep coming back here for more sleeves or deck boxes as I need them, and I definitely recommend other Pokemon/MTG players come by here to check it out if you...
Read moreGreat card shop! I’ve lived in Riverton my whole life, and I’ve been obsessed with Pokemon for just as long, so I kept hoping that a card shop would open up in Riverton. Years went by, and finally, I believe somewhere around 2019 or 2020, a place called Kayfabe opened their doors. Ever since, I’ve been going in almost every week. And there’s more to do than just buy cards! There’s always some sort of event, and personally I go to the play and trades every Saturday. And there’s more than just Pokemon too. They have something for everyone (except yugioh, but who plays that anyway), and they have a very clean and well kept environment. They also have all the accessories you could need for your TCG games. Sleeves, deck boxes, dice, play mats, even some Japanese stuff. I feel like the employees have a more personal and amiable relationship with the customers then some other card shops (cough cough game haven) And they even hired a local artist to paint their walls! I remember being there for that, it was a cool process to watch. Anyway, go to Kayfabe, you...
Read moreJust moved to around the area and was shocked to hear that they comp cards you want to sell at tcg LOW PRICING. my card was $50 market, but low pricing was $28. So I was offered 70% or so of the low price. I checked afterwards and the low listing on TCG player had a Japanese description even though it was listed as English.
Disappointed that the employee didn’t have the experience or flexibility to understand that offering $20 on a $50 card was scummy.
Pricing on for sale cards was fine, except the employee asked if I was going to grade the card that I was looking at. After saying yes, and trying to buy the card, magically the price had gone up from sticker. Idk what kind of game that was. But seemed like he thought he could get away with charging more than market because the card was really in good condition.
Disappointing. The skinny kid acts like he owns the place. And the guy with the beard acts like you are the biggest inconvenience he’s ever met. Stares at you with dead eyes and no emotion in his voice. Not a...
