Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Rockland

I love this store I’ve been coming here for about 20 years now it’s such a great place for shop therapy, I love that they have a bathroom I can use since I have medical problems, and it’s overall a clean well stocked place. My only issue is that now that I moved from literally next door to two towns over I only stop in once in a while. The last three times I stopped in I have been followed by loss prevention each time. I know it’s loss prevention because I’ve been in retail a long time and even have been loss prevention myself. This loss prevention guy always seems to target me and sticks on my tail like glue. I understand he has a job to do and I respect that but he makes it very obvious that he’s specifically following me. I don’t know if it’s because I look like someone who has shop lifted or because of my more alternative look (I wear band shirts and have black hair there’s really nothing much to it) But regardless it makes me feel Uncomfortable and my shop therapy goes right out the window and I hurry up and buy my stuff and leave. So dear loss prevention guy keep up the good work but stop making it so obvious. Oh yea and James the cashier was super friendly and nice he made the experience pleasant. I shopped today on 1/4/2025 at 3:30-4 pm...

Their all every attentive, easy to approach with a questions n so forth. Also they showed that they are practicing wearing gloves and masks for safety of the customers and the staff who wrk their lil tails off, n I always have to a very easy goin person who is a realist but also always given others who look like their just hating every thing that I'll try n get them to laugh ,smile, sort convo and b4 u knw it I helped them brighten their day as well as my own. Pass Positive Vibes N Help Other's Out When Possible cuz Reguardless how much pride one can have, they still need help so I just do wat I can do for them n then b on my way staying positive and focused cuz (*FUC COVID19 we can get through this maddening situation we're all in together so try to make sum one's day n pass positivity on to other's. Cuz just doin that one deed 4 the day. you'll also feel better that you could help a person during this super crazy quantine situation unfortunately but we all have to weather we want to or not. I love Ocean State Job Lot. This Rockland location& the Marshfield location, are the two closest to me. I honestly would've gave them 5 stars, but just about every time I shop here, there's grumpy or rude employees. Which is one thing I just really have no patience for. I did one time have the nicest cashier, who was just a teenager! Helped us with coupons and with signing up for a Job Lot Rewards card too. Super pleasant, friendly, & helpful. And just a kid. I remember his name tag said, "Sean." So honestly, I hope he gets credit where credit is due here! He was even nicer and more helpful, than the management!- I hope this teenager is shown that hard work& being friendly& helpful, pays off!- With a bonus in his check, or a raise in his pay....
