I notified store clerks and the manager in Foodland that a man had exposed himself in the baking aisle. The manager said they would take care of the issue. While in the store I saw the exhibitionist was going back to the beginning of the store. There were several young girls in the store. "“For a lot of guys [who] are exposing themselves, as ridiculous as it seems, it is about the act of exposing yourself to someone who isn’t expecting it that is sexually arousing,” Dr. Darrel Turner, a clinical and forensic psychologist specializing in sexual offenses. “It’s a thrill, it’s a rush, but there’s a sexual arousal component to it as well. I would say it’s a combination of the reaction that you get from the person that you’re exposing yourself to, as well as the very act of exposing yourself to someone who isn’t expecting it.” “For people who’ve been victimized in this way, things that people tend to express is that they feel stupid for feeling anything, because they know that people are physically assaulted and raped and they feel like, ‘Why am I having such a reaction when they didn’t touch me?’,” Scaramella said. “So we really talk about [how] the feelings are very similar, whether or not you were touched — [it’s] the same thing with people who were forced to watch pornography or listen to things. It doesn’t always have to be physical to have the [harmful] psychological impact.” This past week I spoke to the manager as a follow up to the incident. The manager said the exhibitionist did not mean anything. I asked the manager how did he know that, I was there and he was not. I asked if the manager had called the police. He said he did not. I asked if he had considered the 3 young girls in the store with the exhibitionist walking around. The manager said he did not. I told the manager the effect on those young girls would have been lifelong. The managers choice not to deter the exhibitionist promotes a culture of sexual harassment. The manager's behavior is grossly negligent....
Read moreLoL, I used to live in the area of this foodland 2 years ago and completely forgot to write a review for this infamous grocery store. And boy do I got a story to tell😂
In 2023, I found a tub of ice cream in the freezer that expired in 2021 which was 2 years ago at the time. Me, being a considerate person, brought this to the attention of one of the workers.
The employee turned around to another employee and asked "What do I do with this." (Umm, throw that garbage in the trash?)
Me and my sister were shocked to what this employee replied. She straight up was like, "Just put it back." Not only did she say this, but she said it in front of other customers.
My sister and I yelled, "No, don't put it back, it expired two years ago!"
The original cashier who we told about this turned back to us, "I'll figure something out."
Me and my sister said okay and grabbed our bags and left.
Something about that exchange didn't sit well, and so I came back to the store the next day to see if they had "Figured something out."........
THE AUDACITY OF THEM TO PUT THAT ICE CREAM BACK IN THE FREEZER!!!!
They must think they're slick hiding it in front of other ice creams thinking no one's gonna know.😂
Clearly, this store lacks standards, and the employees lack of consideration for their customers for saying in front of your customers that you're gonna put something expired back on the shelves for other people to buy and most likely attract food poisoning. Don't even get me started on them trying to hide it. How can anyone trust this store after what they did? I can't imagine what other items in your store are expired that y'all tried to hide.
Anyways,...
Read moreFriendly staff and usually not busy at all. Super quiet for a grocery store, which is really nice.
However, the pricing is outrageous for a small town like this. There's only two grocery stores here, and otherwise it's 25 minutes one way to either Athens or Florence, and the pricing is higher than Publix's for anything except raw meat. You can't live in Rogersville and reasonably buy groceries here. I was hoping that the Dollar General Market across the street would provide enough competition for lower pricing, but they seem to be competing for who can cost the most. It's unfortunate because if you want any kind of growth in a small town like this, money needs to flow through it, and it could be happening much more efficiently if you could buy groceries here without...
