I would not recommend this place to anyone ! I use to be a loyal and repeat customer until today, when I saw their greedy side of doing business. In the past 6 months or so I have purchased approximately $8,000.00 of furniture from the Houghton Lake store,of that was $200.00 in delivery charges to deliver about a mile down the road from their store and I paid another $40.00 on my first delivery to have their delivery guys move my old couch 30 feet to my garage. Today I had another delivery of $2700.00 worth of furniture. When they got here I asked the two delivery guys if they would move a couch, I just purchased from them about 3 months ago, from my one living room to my other living room around the corner,so I could have my new $2200.00 couch put in its place. Now mind you I just paid another $100.00 for delivery fee for 1 mile down the road from their store. I was willing to pay them each $10.00 for 2 minutes of their time but they said they needed $60.00 additional for relocating my couch to a different room. I thought the guy was joking but soon realized he was not. I then told him he could take all the new furniture back where he got it from. I called the store and let them know what happened and all they could say is that's our store policy. I then went into the store,talked to the manager about it and all he could say is,"yah yah". I asked him if he was willing to lose a $2742.00 sale over a stupid $60.00 relocating fee and he just said,"that's our store policy". I then had my debit card refunded my entire order and I can promise you I will never ever buy anything from VanDrie Furniture again. It's a shame they let profit and greed outlay customer care. Read moreI purchased a sofa and love seat from VanDrie of Houghton Lake MI. Paid for the set and was told that I will be contacted the next Monday when the sofa (only) was dropped off. Which was only a few days later. I had to call them to see if it had arrived which it did. And for the love seat, I was told it'd be in Nov/Dec or even January to be safe. I called on January 14th and was informed that it'd be an additional 2.5 months roughly. Not very happy with that I asked to talk to a manager because the salesman's estimation was unfair. I asked for some kind of money back because what I paid for wasn't here to be enjoyed... Now I'm looking at 4.5 months without a love seat in my home for choosing to purchase from them! The manager could only tell me he didn't have it (multiple times) and wouldn't even try to make it right. Being a business owner myself I'd never do this to a customer!
